Hi all, thanks for the advice. I had the pedal apart at the weekend so hopefully all fixed at that end. On the throttle, can someone send a photo of what I should be looking at on the throttle body? Much appreciated
It's a 2018 ex-Academy Sigma, same as yours if I recall BTW that half hood is great, throughly tested it yesterday and it was super easy to set-up, very happy with it :-)
The Sigma gave me a fright today, had my foot on the floor overtaking up a big hill on a dual carriageway. Lifted off after the overtake and the throttle remained nailed to the floor. Luckily the road ahead was clear and I was not coming up behind anything else. I tucked my foot under the pedal and it lifted. I guess I'm looking for sticky action at the pedal or other end of the cable but the fact that the throttle can stick open in any circumstance is frightening.
I see that people like SBFS quote a different half roof depending on roll bar set when buying a new half roof. On my car the full weather Caterham roof still fits over the Academy cage, does this mean any half roof would actually fit well enough if it was from a car with the standard height roll bar? I see them come up for sale secondhand occasionally and was wondering if I could just get a normal one
I've booked on to the Castle Combe novice group. I heard good things about this event so it seems the ideal way in. Have only done the Top Gear track in my previous Caterham at Dunsfold a few times. So a first proper car trackday, have done motorcycles but quite a few years ago.
I took my drivers seat out to have a look, it seems I have about 12.5mm spacer at front and 7.5mm at back - not sure if that is the standard set up? So I think I can tilt and lower it quite a bit still? Can I just remove the 5mm rear spacer and raise the front or leave rear as it is and raise front? I'm running the normal adjustable seat runners. Thanks
My last 7 had these, the latest doesn't so it's not as comfortable on long trips and the water really gets in, so thought I'd add these.. but seeing that they're about £120 with fittings from Caterham I may not bother Are there any cheaper or simpler options out there?
I've got a couple of these missing, any idea where I can get them. My car just seems to have a couple of rubber like top hats, no nuts on the cam cover which you can just lift off, so surely not quite right. Photo isn't of my cam cover though.
I'm trying to fit hood straps to my ex-Academy car and looked along the rear panel for the pre-drilled holes to attach the strap to the car but I can't find any. Can someone tell me where these should be or share a photo of them installed? Many thanks
