  1. I managed to pick up a couple of armrests at the Caterham parts sale so will try something similar 👍
  2. Many thanks, Oxted wouldn’t sell armrests to me either when I asked in there last week I’ll go back to CC 👍
  3. I just messaged Caterham parts and they replied almost immediately but said only one type for S3 cars
  4. Great, thanks for the reply 👍
  5. Has anyone fitted arm rests to a car with a full roll cage? I think the standard arm rests will be too long. Has anyone done this? Trimmed the arm rests??

    Noisy Rear End

Pad knock can be quite loud, had that on a previous Caterham
  7. You have a heater in your Caterham, wow what is the world coming to, there’ll be heated seats next 😉
  8. DPR have been great for me as well, done a few things in recent years and they are very thorough. Everyone will have their favourites based on good, bad or indifferent experiences and you ultimately only find out who to avoid based on the experience you encounter. I have used a few and know the ones I’d go back to and equally not go near again.

    First Track Day

Well done! I guess we’re also getting near that time when the 2024 club event calendar will come out and decisions on next years plans for certain events will be quickly needed.
  10. Thanks, I think I will investigate making something up for myself as well
  11. 23 plate 420R Seems we were heading in a similar direction
  12. Thursday 3rd August evening - anyone on here?
  13. I need a draught reducer for use in the rain with the half hood, does anyone know who makes these apart from SBFS? I was going to ask Oxted
  14. Looking for a draft reducer for use with Tillett seats Not sure who else makes these aside from SBFS though?
  15. It's fixed! For the record and anyone else changing wiper motor parts, if you buy a new drive wheel make sure the raised part for the park switch is in the same place on the drive wheel as the one you remove. The Mini one I got had the raised white tab fitted opposite the Caterham set up (so 180 degrees different) hence wipers parking incorrectly (vertically). It took a lot of fiddling and some researching the web before I discovered this was the issue. Also if the wipers just won't stop and park correctly then change the park switch first. When I dissembled my drive wheel I also found it chewed up. My motor hopefully is fine and was running throughout. You can also remove the whole S3 wiper mechanism with motor and arms attached without disassembly, I just loosened the nut on the motor to the arm and you can then wriggle it out past the wiring harness. I had it in and out in minutes when I became well practised... just make sure you remove the power feed to the motor as you do it. The strap that secures the motor is a PITA to remove and refit though.. Hopefully all ready for Brooklands now and this all helps someone else in future.
  16. One thing I have just read is to check that the white pick up button on the drive wheel is in the same place as my old one, so will check that next anyway..
  17. Wipers working and parking sort of.. I have fitted a new park switch and a new gear wheel. They run at both speeds as normal but park vertically rather than horizontally and so want to sweep the bonnet rather than the windscreen when the wipers are attached in the correct position at the base of the windscreen. This seems quite a common wiper set up problem but the answer seems less clear and I have tried a few things I read on a few Mini forums but no luck (e.g. moving it 180 degrees). I have had the mechanism apart a number of times and tried resetting the drive wheel in different positions but each time it chooses to reset and park vertically. Any ideas?
  18. I stripped the gear wheel out of the motor assembly as I suspected that was the issue and it's all chewed up, so a new one is now on order
  19. I have now tried a new park switch and the same issue persists. The motor seems to run, the worm drive spins (marked in red on the photo) but nothing else happens to drive the actual wiper mechanism. I assume this is a failed drive mechanism and that I need to get a new motor assembly, but before I do wanted to just check if there's anything I can do with the existing unit
  20. Interesting to see more photos with a 7, I'm a little spilt on whether to get one with just the spreading arms or ramps like yours. The smaller ones are probably a bit more portable if I need to move it. I've also got a significant slope up to the garage to first get it installed.
  21. Thanks and really useful to see a photo of a 7 on one, that looks like it would create lots of room behind the car at the back
  22. Many thanks Jonathan, I was a bit surprised there hasn't been more discussion on various lifting options so thought I'd ask again

  24. I keep the 7 in a long single garage but need to create a bit more garage length by lifting the 7 so I can get a second car tucked a little way under it. It's more for permanent storage than working on cars all the time and I'm looking for any simple and cost effective solution to lift the 7. This photo I saw on PH gives the idea Does anyone have experience of these type of lifts and their sizing for a 7, a couple of links I've seen https://www.strongmanlifts.co.uk/product/tamar-mobile-car-scissor-lift https://automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-7630-mobile-scissor-lift/ https://automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-7532b-3-2t-mid-rise-scissor-lift/
