    Rover V8

I remember on the old rover 3.5 SD1 if you lost oil pressure the oil pressure switch would drop the earth to the fuel pump relay so there maybe some truth if the wiring architecture is the same 😶‍🌫️

    Drive train clunk

I get an annoying whine from the n/s when the mrs is in the car :)
  4. Hi not sure on the size but if a 10mm head on the bolt then there be 6mm if 8mm head then 5mm. If you can't nut and bolt I would suggest making backing spacers/washers out of alluminium to avoid contact corrosion 😶‍🌫️
  5. Hi it may be grease out of the bearings if the seal has let go ore it's got hot. How do the bearings feel if you drop the belt off?
  6. Hi I suspect the damage would not render the whole screen inoperative.Continuity is not the best check as it would come up ok if only one element was working check the live and earth when circuit is under load ( screen on) you should have battery voltage one side and less than 0.3 volts on the earth side.
  7. Welcome to the future half of us are obese now and can't fit in our electric 7s :)
  8. Hi There is various ways you could make the hole for the flush mount including good old fashioned chain drill and file, but my main reason for posting is please don't fit the other 8mm option you linked as they are not man enough they look more like estate car/van internal lashing rings. 😶‍🌫️

    Speed sensor

Oh mechanicy wise I was thinking more gear box speed sensor so if that's the case on the hub the toothed wheel is the only moving part so you can rule that out if it intact. The sensor is most likely to be a Hall effect sensor ( like ABS and engine speed sensors)so they need to be scoped to read the signal wire.

    Speed sensor

Hi strange sinario for an electrical failure so may be worth checking the sensor is turning mechanically . To check electrically If it's a hall sensor type your need to scope the signal to the speedo *wavey*as for a cheaper option if it needs replacing there should be a part number on it you could google
  11. Me not sure but if upside down then I assume it would need to be from a LHD vehicle 😶‍🌫️
  12. No no no your have a lot more to refurb if you do.
  13. If your engine requires a cat test then i would suspect your not going to to pass without a sensor. May be worth a chat with previous owner on how they achieved emissions standards .
  14. I would have stuck with the wife's right foot technique

    DRL for 7's?

They would be plug n play just a couple of wires and would look great on any p reg corsa. Sorry I'm all for safety but I think there make a caterham look tacky 😶‍🌫️
  17. Hi Condensation is all about the dew point witch basically is a calculation between the outside temperature the inside temperature and the humidity in the air. Insulating the roof will stop the condensation on roof panels as this will keep them nearer the temperature so the outside of the panel so should help if there are no other issues with the walls and floor that may cause high humidity .
  18. Hi check your charging and battery. Lights don't take a lot of current it's most likely your fan drawing it in traffic. You should have around 13.5 to 14.5 volts at fast idle and would not expect it to drop below 12.5-13 at idle. Also this is the time of year a battery will show its weakness.
  19. Hi is it scared of the weather 😬 joking aside are the plugs wet? If so sounds like a spark issue. I had trouble with mine and that turned out to be the rotor arm tracking to the dizzy drive. If your plugs are dry then possibly a fuelling issue.
  20. Quite straight forward he be ok. Might be worth mentioning there may be nylon lock stops floating around on the track rods that you don't see on a conventional rack . Regards Tom
  21. Hi. Do you have an issue with the excitation of the alternator ? If you put a test light (not meter) between a chassis earth and the small lead on the alternator with engine running does it start to charge then? If so then that's your issue. Not sure on your set up I.e does your 7 have a charging/ ignition lamp for exciting the alternator? Kind regards Tom

    LED light issue

Hi as the other guys have suggested a diode only allows current to flow one way so try reversing the polarity and see if this helps your issue .
  23. You should never trust a beep test always read the meter as it will beep way above a good low resistance of less than an ohm. Even this is not fool proof as a meter induces a voltage then measures it at the other end so if you have power connected your get a false reading. Also as the circuit is not loaded you have no current draw you can still get a good reading over a poor circuit . To sum up always load your circuit and check voltages across it this will quickly ascertain if a live, earth or consumer fault. Kind regards Tom
  24. I have been driving VW DPF vehicles for some years (some of the time conservatively) And never had a DPF regen lamp come on. True town driving can cause regen issues but if you carry out a regen when the first lamp comes on you should have no issues. Chances are if your second car is a caterham it a never come on anyway
  25. Hi should be quite straight forward so long as the system is empty . A Regas you should be able to get for anywhere between 30 - 50 quid if ya shop around .
