  1. Can I have first dips please CB provided its as described, i.e zip OK etc Paul Edited to say first DIBS also please!!! Edited by - Apothecary on 14 Jul 2007 19:36:33
  2. Picture of mechanical gauge installed on my car here Edited to add; Size of gauge is very close to the original and looks very similar. IIRC its also a Caerbont gauge) Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here Edited by - Apothecary on 1 Jul 2007 15:54:29
  3. Second Neil's comments. Hving just switched to mechanical it's reassuring to have a proper indication of OP rather than relying on the electrical set up which never gave me any confidence ❗
  4. Shaun Thank you very much for taking the trouble to look all this up - really appreciated Paul Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  5. Roy, Thanks, that's a useful contact. Interesting site too with some good tips
  6. Thanks Shaun, After a little hunting I see my camera can record up to 520 lines of resolution so Package 5 seems to be the way to go (and its £10 cheaper!). I'll go for the the Lanc Sport + extension lead then (good tip ). Please let me know if you find a site for the ball head Thanks again, Paul Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  7. I'm looking for some guidance This is probably one for those into recording their own in -car video who have been down this route before..... Having now acquired a Sony Camcorder with AV-in and LANC capability I'm looking at bullet cams. RF Concepts seems to be the best place to go and I was going to go for package 4 with the 4.3mm lense @ £145 but I notice that Package 5 is now on offer at £135 and Package 5 EXVIEW also at £145. RF CONCEPTS SITE here So, if you were buying now and wanted it for recording TDays / Road use etc (i.e not really low light or night time recording) then what would you go for and why 🤔 I will also get a LANC controller - is the Lanc Sport controller (discounted with a new package ) all I need or would I regret not getting the full remote 🤔 here Lastly, I understand the Manfrotto Superclamp here is a good way to secure the bullet cam to the role bar. What connector will I need to attach the bulletcam to the clamp 🤔 Thanks for any help/ comments Edited to add - are there any other 'must get' accessories I should be looking at 🤔 Paul Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here Edited by - apothecary on 23 Jun 2007 13:15:33
  8. Replaced mine after repainting the wings and IIRC you knock the fixed bolts out (srewdriver and hammer ❗) and the 'square' containing the imbedded screw falls through allowing you to insert a new longer version...hop that makes sense Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  9. Yes that it , unless you want to also include a pressure switch to run to a light in the dash. If so, you will probably want a T piece and mount to a chasis rail. Think Automotive will sell the full kit at discount to club members. I found this very useful here Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  10. Phil, Blatmail received and YHM back Paul
  11. I ran with foam and thankfully never had it break up. However, when Oily breathed on my engine we also took the foam out and it has been fine. Having just fitted a mechanical pressure gauge I know the presure is perfectly fine without any foam & I dont seem to suffer surge on hard cornering(note: apollo fiited also). Paul
  12. I have to agree with Nifty et al on this. Better to keep your FIA bar, remove the hood sticks and get a Softbitforsevens half hood and tonneau for when you need to leave the car fully covered
  13. Phil, I have a standard roll bar (Live Axle) in v.good condition sitting in the loft. I assume it would fit a short cockpit car It came off a 2000MY Vx classic Its yours for a small donation to NTL if you can collect from Bracknell No tonneau i'm afraid. 14. According to this here you will need an M8. Just about to do the same thing except I was sent the wrong size adaptor to replace the sender ☹️ so will have to wait untill Tuesday to get the right size (M12 x 1.5) - i.e what I asked for!
  15. techbod, My 2002 SL came with the optional rear wheel carrier, which I dont use unless on touring trips, and it secures the wheel only in the way yours seems to. Was the Y bracket a more recent design change or perhaps for cars specc'ed with standard spare wheels ? What model is your car? Anyway, why not take it off and save a considerable amount of weight 😬 Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  16. Another for Lifeline 1.75l. If you buy direct they also do a club discount. (AFFF also better than powder should you need to use it (powder can be detrimental to electrics)). Some good info in the archive Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  17. Fitted mine two weeks ago . Best tip was to put the car up on stands and get underneath to get a good view of the holes and where you will inevitably have to oval them out (assuming the floor is alrerady drilled). I used a round file to enlarge the hole (that was the easy bit as ali files away easily). You should be able to see where you need to enlarge the holes a few mm in order to fit the bolts into the captive nuts. If you have a petty strutt also remember you will need to angle the seat back to ensure the PS misses the seat headrest when fitted - trial fit first. I used 3 washers on the front of the bracket. Good luck and just take your time One of the best 'upgrades' so far as you feel much more a part of the car Paul Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  18. My Racetech QR has been on for 5yrs and 11K miles and has not play at all that I can detect
  19. Martin, Just bought some for my new Tilletts so cannot compare without but have to say they are great so far! Paul
  20. Not local but CC usually post same day if you call in the morning so should get them by Saturday or maybe Jill Judd. Not sure if James Whiting keeps them but is closer and may be worth a try?

    Oil Filter

Alternatively the screw driver and hammer thru the filter body trick always works Good luck!
  22. Also just fitted a Sutars socket in the dash (as per Ian B's link above)...if you do fit it in the dash be VERY careful that you have enough room between the lower chassis rail and any existing switches above. I very nearly had a problem because the locking ring at the back of the socket was fouling the back of the switches and the rail. Paul Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
  23. At the showroom on Friday they confirmed Anti- Cav as standard and dry sump as £1K option (although not listed). Apparently all the launch cars at Cadwell earlier in the week were running standard (no Dry sump) set up. Also, EVO will be running a new R400 in its 'track car of the year' feature. 25. Neil, Can I have first dibs please. I just need to check out that I fit in the Caterham race seat OK - which I should know by tonight and will confirm tomorrow morning. Could you blatmail me a contact number please. Paul Now DVA Powered SL No.174 Member No.109xx Pictures here
