  1. Cheers Dave Hadn't thought to ask them! Cheers Steve
  2. Rob - have checked and I need a 1600 or 1800 block as the 1400 has different liner sizes. Thanks anyway! Anyone else who bought a complete engine for the head have a block around?...otherwise it's off to the breakers yard for me! cheers
  3. thanks Barry - thought you were low on stock! Rob - sounds quite interesting, although I am not really bothered with having all the other bits and pieces, I only need the block, so sump, head, crank, are surplus...would you split and do a deal?... cheers Steve
  4. Thanks Mark I'll have a look - though my head and ancilliaries are all OK...good thought though! cheers Steve
  5. mmm...it seems so Barry...I am obviously a stupid 🙆🏻 ...still, I can't be called a dipstick as I don't do that often enough (just a thought but I think you've probably run out of K series engines now?...) cheers Steve
  6. Having run the last one without enough oil, 🙆🏻 I need to replace the block... Does anyone have a suitable one sitting in their garage? Thanks Steve m - 07836-384473
  7. ...and it seems like I ran it with too little oil 🙆🏻 it was most likely this that caused the failure...stupid mistake...and expensive... ☹️
  8. Yes, I have to admit to being surprised that mine went bang. It was built by a chap who has a lot of experience with K series engines and has also built other engines for me (no probs). He didn't build Alex's engine, so it wasn't the builder (imo) probably a component failure. Thanks for the commiserations Alex! Not sure if I'll build another Cheers Steve
  9. Hi Simon Great concept but from personal experience may I suggest that you proceed with caution ...I have put the scholar 1900 block conversion into my se7en - producing around 225 bhp / 155 lb ft - so quite 'gentle'...it went BANG at Bedford on Saturday - no oil pressure drop or signs of imminent failure - rod through the side of the block...huge smoke and oily mess... ☹️ I am aware of at least one other that has failed in a similar fashion (also number 2 cylinder). Only upside for me is that I still have the 'old' 1800 to go back in... cheers Steve

Cheers Nifty Yes, I agree, it's part of the way these forums work and I got a bit up my own orifice 🙆🏻 Should have logged off and replied later! Never mind! Hope you got what you were looking for (an engine as far as I can tell!!) Cheers Steve

Hi Airhog Thanks for the feedback and advice and apologies for the tone. Frustrated at the process rather than your offer...probably due to my age! I will accept £50.00. John C has said he'll pay this but you were on to it first, so I feel it is 'proper' to offer them to you if you are still interested? I have intermittent access to Blatchat today, but your response on here will be fine. Kind regards Steve

This "first dibs, second dibs" thing is hasn't worked very well so far for me I had them up for £60.00, I'll take £50.00 or I'll put them in a skip and sod the environment 😳 First response on here counts (not via blatmail) - then it's clear who was first! Apologies, don't mean to sound @rsey, but it's not worth the effort... Cheers Steve

  24. Hi Dave The roadgoing Caterhams etc are in B1 in the MHC. Typical cars in B2 include: Ford Escort RS2000, Renault 5 Turbo, Ford Fiesta, Peugeot 309 Gti, Hillman Avenger GLS, Chrysler Sunbeam Ti B3 has Westies and Caterhams on slicks - records generally held by Mr Kimberley...so they are proper ones!! Hope that this helps? Cheers Steve
