  1. So a quick Google tells me that boltonbits are rubbish and un-relaible, however, these used on LRs are a better bet. I'll do some measuring when i get home. Incidentally I already have the flasher unit fitted to deal with the new SVC LED rear light blocks i've just fitted - pics to follow - but a quantum difference from the caravan glow worms I used ot have.
  2. Any POBC know if something like this might work on the car? I (still! ) have the old style indicator holders on mine, rather than the newer pods. thank you.
  3. Since we're talking about it I had a quick flick through the www and saw this anyone have any thoughts or seen them operating - they seem to a lot cheaper for pretty much the same product?
  4. Thanks Jonathan saw that one and considered it - though did have my heart set on a metal one wi the light in the tip as seem in the more simple on / off ones. I have done a lot of internet trawling but to date no success. Was hoping that the mre experienced members of BC would have beaten me to it.
  5. Jonathan, Yes exactly that. Also going to put repeaters in the headlight bowl but fancied a lit toggle. Andy
  6. Anyone on POBC seen one of these for indicators? It might help me to remember to switch off the indicators rather than buzzers, which I'm too deaf to hearing anyway. Andy
  7. Jonathan thanks for the tip on the bearings. Got some. Ref the other side it was an additional problem/concern but I think I may have been being a hypochondriac on behalf of the car - all actually seems well. Tightened up the wheel bearings anyway. when i get the bearings through if there are still issues, I'll put out another call Thanks for your help.
  8. You're all brilliant. Many thanks for the info. Andy
  9. updated in original message - bump can't figure out how to do it properly
  10. OK done that and it looks LSD. 1992 S3 ford running gear. What oil do you recommend for the top up?
  11. Sorry for the numpty question. I need to top up the diif (Sierra) oil but don't know if it's an LSD or not. How do I tell? In haste.
  12. Jonathan, Wrighpayne and MADMALC Thank you all for the ideas. Jonathan it is the squeaky wheel, though that had stopped on my run home last night - i put it down to a stone, perhaps somewhat prematurely! Assistant identified and we'll look at it at lunchtime to close down on the problem. Update will follow.
  13. Updated Just had the wheel of and wheel bearings are OK. Had another look at suspension and it looks like the slack is because of wear in the Front offside lower wishbone bearing. Any thoughts on where I can get a replacement bearing from ? many thanks. Just noticed some slight movement in the offside front wheel; almost as if the wheel bolts were lose - but they're not. Movement is no more than a couple of mm but is noticeable. Any thoughts for what the potential issue might be? thanks
  14. Thanks Jonathan I'll follow the thread when i get home. Andy
  15. Any thoughts; Developed a front right squeak on the way in today. It only manifests itself when moving the wheel to the left and disappears when under 5 MPH. It's definitely associated with rotation of the wheel, so possibly rubbing? Any other thoughts?
  16. Mmm sounds interesting - any idea of how much this would cost?
  17. no idea if they're any good but saw these worth a punt.
  18. Sounds good - any idea how it was done?
  19. The boys are now old enough - so if anyone has one they no longer need................. I'm a willing buyer (sensible asking price of course!) Thank you Andy
  20. Hope you all had great fun on what turned out to be a fantastic day. Book early and get a slot as a competitor next year!
  21. OK so that all makes sounds sense to me and I understand most of it . However, do you think there would be any real benefit if I 'stuffed' a lightwight flywheel in with my car: standard mk 9 gearbox 1.8K ss that has had a little DVA 1.4 - 1.8 upgrade and some pixie dust sprinkled over it. still has the standard Rover MEMS (i'll upfgradone day)Andy
  22. 7 wonders ......... Hi did you have the rectangular ones fitted (noting that you are without caterham now! ) and if so would you have any pics - I seem to prefer the look of these over the round ones. Andy
