  1. Hi Nigel I am probably talking rubbish...... but when Andy Jupp of PGM played with my car, at the same time as balancing the throttle bodies and idle adjustment he also adjusted the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) to get everything in balance. To aid him in this he had a laptop connected running a copy of Easimap, and although he did not make changes to the map, he could see a variety of diagnostic displays that give feedback on the effect of the physical adjustments being made. There might be a member local to you that has the necessary cable for connection.. I also did have poor running, especially the day after washing the car ( or so I convinced myself). Has not happened recently (touch wood), but I think it was one of the contacts where the spark plug leads connect to the rectangular black box at the rear of the engine (distributor?)
  2. Hi Nigel Hope you enjoyed your Spanish trip I have gone through 3 CC plastic radiators, and then one CC all aluminium triple pass , and when that failed I replaced it with a Radtec and have not had a problem since!
  3. Hi Superlight Yes there is a revised filler neck for the aero , however it is extremely hard to tell apart from the version that has the problem. I personally would press CC for a replacement that is "fit for use" before removing the flap. That was what I did by challenging them to fill my car up at the Sainsbury filling station in Dartford, and when they failed, they redesigned the filler neck. When did you "upgrade" to the Aero?
  4. Hi Robin If you need a lift from Brighton to PGM any time please let me know
  5. Hi Nigel Latest measurements:- Front of engine sump clearance nearside 100mm offside 90mm Front wishbone rear arm chassis bolt location point, clearance 140mm both sides. So there is a 10mm difference across the sump, either engine tilts or the sump is asymmetrical (or both ) Hi Jonathan Unless I am mistaken, the combination of wheel & tire size also has an effect on the geometry. My car has 185/60 r14. If I changed these for either larger or smaller (without changing anything else), it would either increase or decrease the ground clearances would it not 🤔 What size wheels & tyres do you have Nigel?
  6. Hi Nigel So yours sheared off below the bottom weld attaching the horizontal cross member. Mine was the opposite, but at least all three of my bolts were still in place. My thanks must go to Andy of PGM for fixing mine. There are thick spacing washers on the offside, but not on the nearside.
  7. Hi Nigel Just measured my Sigma, albeit on a paved driveway! Without me in the car (obviously) sump clearance 100mm At the rear, under the bolt attaching a-frame 160mm At the front, under the rear wishbone arm 140mm Hope this helps Steve
  8. Recently had exactly the same symptoms. Check the nearside engine mount. The triangular part that is actually bolted to the engine with three bolts. Mine was bent & cracked just above the weld where the horizontal part is welded to the triangular end plate. This resulted in the engine leaning down at the nearside, and up on the exhaust side, thus making the tops of the exhaust touch the sideskin. Yours might be the same.
  9. Oberon Flat tax disc holder mounted on on of the windscreen stanchion bolts My red one has faded slightly in 5 years and 51k miles, but it is out in all weathers. Edited by - Steve Cornford on 31 Dec 2012 12:36:29
  10. The loop picks up the signal from the key-fob thingy, I think the loop needs to be about level with the face of the barrel so that it detects your key thingy. Its like an aerial, but perhaps another K series R300 owner will confirm. With your keing & ignition on so that you have the fast flashing, try moving the loop/lasso..
  11. Don't know if this helps, but on the first day of Sigma ownership, I accidently displaced the immobiliser aerial wire that forms a "lasso" around the ignition switch barrel, and got exactly the same symptoms. Should yours have a small loop of black wire in the proximity of the barrel?
  12. Thank you both for your replies, and for pointing me in the right direction.
  13. It is a 1600 K series engine. Having switched the ignition on, whistling starts. Switching off the ignotion, whistling continues. Locking the car, the immobiliser arms (sidelights flash 3 times, immobiliser lighth flashes fast for say 30 seconds, then starts slow flashing, but whistling continues. Disconnect battery, whistling stops. Connect battery, synchronise immobiliser, but do not switch ignition off & on, get only 26 milliamps consumption & no whistling. Locking the car, the immobiliser arms as above, but still no whistling. It seems the act of switching on the ignition creates the whistle. Could it be dodgy relay somewhere?
  14. Sister has Rover 45 2001, 1600cc petrol. If left unused for any length of time the battery gets drained. By disconnecting battery, then connecting ammeter in line, having synchronised the immobiliser fob by pressing 4 times current settles to 26milliamps However switch on ignition (without starting engine), then switch ignition off, curent goes up to over 330milliamps, and there is high frequency, but low volume ( to my ears) whistling, coming from the nearside front of the engine compartment. As soon as I disconnect the battery it stops. BAttery is 45 AmpHour, so at 330ma gets flat within a week. What could it be? Edited by - steve cornford on 13 Dec 2012 17:32:19
  15. Searching internet found some suggesting that Ford now recomend 80k or 5 years, whichever is earlier. Might get my June 2007 Sigma with 50k checked out
  16. *wavey*Hi. Do you mean the serpentine v-belt? If so yes. I replaced mine when it split along its length. I got the replacement from local motor factors. If that is the belt you mean, let me know and I will dig out the invoice & part no.
  17. *wavey*I think it was me on route to a customer site that requires suit and tie, and without a garage I tend to keep it with hood on during winter working days. Dont worry, already drummed out of Le BOG club for having a windscreen ☹️ I spotted a silver 7 joining the A23 @ Handcross going north, topless, two up @ 08:15 Is it always that bad thru Oxshott 🤔 Edited by - Steve Cornford on 16 Nov 2012 16:08:05
  18. I have a "portable USB floppy disk drive" that I can lend anyone who needs to use floppy discs to transfer files between old/new pc's. blatmail me if you need it
  19. Pretty sure i got a www.lotussevenclub.com sticker from the Event Vehicle. Hopefully the Event Vehicle will be appearing at the London to Brighton (L2B) "Sossiges" event this year, so if you can wait til November, come along and swell the numbers. 140 sevens attended last year.
  20. I believe there was a delay before Ansar 'signed off' on the the first 'metric' SV's, so I think it was around March/April 2007.
  21. PartridgeGreenMotorsport (PGM) fitted NGK TR5B-13 to my Sigma 150
  22. Le BOG Club Shower Cap 😬 😬 😬 Edited by - Steve Cornford on 24 Jul 2012 10:44:45
  23. Another for "Namrick - The Nut & Bolt Store" Found the shop staff very helpful, even if you only want one bolt! Used some nice stainless & rubber 'P' clips to fasten the BOG Club cocktail cabinet
  24. Sometimes it is not the actual Lambda sensor that fails, but rather poor connections, especially if you have been driving in the wet conditions that have prevailed recently. Fine when your actually driving in the wet, but a week later when things have dried out a bit... Corrosion in the connectors?
