  1. Rs2000 many thanks, very helpful photos, great shots. However can anyone help with some additional information? I am using the EU1V brackets, I have metric chassis (confirmed by CC and other postings on BBC) If the wiring is threaded through the bracket, as it is supposed to be, then where does the wiring go? Some people have said through a hole in the wish bone mounting. Mine does not have a hole, Would it be advisable to drill such , does any one know? My concern would be about any weakening of the wishbone mounting. Any one with a solution / idea please? I'd like to keep the wiring neat, I.e. not just cable tie it the brackets! Thanks to all Steve
  2. Absolutely correct Surrepticious!!! I was getting over Upgraditis quite well until that fateful day in Lyme Regis. But I know its the right thing to do, seeing it lined up against those good-looking 7's it felt like the ugly duckling ...........
  3. I am about to lower my 7 inch headlights and then convert to 5.3/4 instead of the current 7 inch lamps. I have yet to check if my chassis is a metirc chassis. Car is a 2007 year K seires Roadsport. I intend to use these here which I have been led to believe are for a metric chassis. But I will measure the wishbone mount to establish if they will fit. My question is, has anybody any experience of this and if so are the cycle wings - when turning - likley to foul the newly lowered headlamps? As ever all advice , useful comments are gratefully recieved from you experienced guys. Edited by - SBD762 on 8 Oct 2012 15:10:51

  10. I drive with Aeroscreen/Deflector as many others do on this forum. No doors, no roof. It is brilliant come winter or summer - but that is only my opinion. Others may disagree. I protect myself as well as I can - however there are no gauruntees in life. I did raise this issue previoulsy and was inundated with people's 'opinions' of driving like this - not those who actually experinence it. I asked if they personally knew of anyone being killed, maimed or seriously injured driving with anAero (No doors / roof etc) - no one came back with a 'fact' My advice? Do what YOU feel comfortable with. Do what YOU enjoy doing when driving your 7 Have fun! Cheers Steve

  20. There has been quite a bit about Tillett seats on BC- apologies if I go over old ground. I am considering getting rid of my leather seats (Done less than 3,500 miles) in favour of Tilletts - I run an aero deflector screen. Car is S3 (2007 year). So, a couple of questions:- 1) There seems to be a range of Tilletts to choose from - eg. a B1 model and so on - does anyone have a reccomendation? or a specific Tillett model number to suit the Caterham? 2) Am I right to assume the seat will naturally be lower than existing leather seats - (That is what I want anyway) but has any one experienced any problem with the aspect of being lower? 3) I have seen 'covers' or padding for Tilletts - do people fit such padding and covers? and if so why? 4) I take it they will need a new set of runners to sit on and teh leather seat runners are no good. All constructive comments welcome Cheers Steve
  21. Saturday 18th August around 9.45am going away from Epsom towards Leatherhead. Spotted 2 of you, not together, approximately 1/4mile apart. One BRG with yellow nose and the other Allminium and Yellow. I was in my tin top. I live in Devon, visiting family in Epsom. Sorry Classic1952 I can't answer or Badge query. However I would like to comment on some of the "smart Alec's" on Blatchat who think they are funny when they post so-called humorous comments on what in the main (certainly to the poster) are serious requests for help or support. If they have to hi-jack others postings with their own form of humour at least go on to Shining Wit section. Perhaps I could nominate Burwell7man to be the first to try it. I hope, Classic1952 you find what you're looking for.
  23. I know a lot has been on here with regard to aeros etc. I am a committed aero fan. Unfortunately I have to wear glasses. What do other people who wear glasses wear over the top for protection? Any recommendations? Goggles over glasses or Over Glasses over glasses, What about headgear a well. Any links, recommendations, trade names etc will be much appreciated. If any of you wear a helmet - agin what I'd good what is not in your opinion. Non-aero users need apply!! CHEERS Steve
  24. I know there have been many threads on here. But I have a question. This guy reckons you can get improvement buy removing the wedge in the 42mm throttle body and he demostrates this in his excellent article here [http://www.myothercarsa2cv.co.uk/howto/rovertb.htm] That said if you go for a 52mm body does anybody know if there is a wedge is in that as well. AND if so, surely if that wedge was removed there would be further improvement?
