  1. Hello everyone, I have set up some Blat/Clat dates for 2015. Rather than have Blats announced ad-hoc by me, I propose the following Blats/Clat Dates for this year. It is difficult for us all to meet up regularly. However I have chosen The Elizabethan Inn (Elizabethan Inn Restaurant & Bar Fore Street Luton Nr Newton Abbot Devon TQ13 0BL) as a Clat/Blat location. Let's try this and see how it works. I have arranged with the Proprietor (Nick Powell) to have Full English Breakfast (Including Tea/Fruit Juice, Full English and more) for £8 as part of their F1 Club facility. This usually costs £10. This is a great venue - OK the last mile and a bit is "down the lanes" - but the Pub is fantastic and the owners are committed petrol heads and more specifically they are F1 fans, hence we can join them for their popular F1 Breakfasts at the same time the GP's are shown on a Big Screen. Stay if you want, but it's not compulsory. If you have a mind to, you can join the F1 club at The Elizabethan. The rest of the dairy is self explanatory. However I really do need you to let me know that you will attend the proposed Clats/Blats, particularly the Saturday Breakfast as Nick will open up just for us. That said I would like to know if you are able to attend the Clats/Blats anyway - If not then we won't be able to run them. I have also included some non blat dates for your diary, local events which I am likely to go to, so again if you are going, let me know and we can meet up at the venue. I'll put all this on Blatchat - see Devon Area Events etc. Lotus Seven Club – Devon Area - 2015 Events Date Devon Area 7’s - 2015 Blats Blat / Clat # Date / TBC Sunday March 29 Meet for Breakfast at The Elizabethan Stay for the Malaysian F1 GP on the Big Screen Clat#1 Fixed date Full English c.£8 Sunday April 12 Meet for Breakfast at The Elizabethan Stay for the Chinese F1 GP on the Big Screen Clat#2 Fixed date Full English c. £8 Sunday May 17 Clat to Moretonhampsted Motor Museum. 2. I've got two. Have sent you BM Steve
  3. OK, given all the above ( I think my 7 is in there somewhere, I.e clunky etc.) what is your valued opinion on just leaving it as it is? I've had my car 3 years now, I've known no different, so just perceived this is what Caterhams are like. The car is 2007, 1.6K series so I assume it's been like it since new. Apart from I accept it as a "characteristic" of the car, am I going to damage it? Or have a catastrophic failure sometime in the future? Mileage is 7K. Discuss?
  4. I do not carry a spare wheel. Does anyone know how long a can of puncture repair spray lasts? I have had a can of Wynns Tyre Repair Spray that was in the boot of my car when I bought it 3 years ago. Probably had been there since the previous owner bought the car in 2007!!!?? I have no idea how good it would be in "action' if required. But I'd rather carry one than not at all. So I am about to throw this one away unless they are ever lasting .......... Does anyone know? Before you say I'm too tight to buy a new one, it's not that, I was cleaning the car out today and thought what's the point of me having this in the boot if of no use at all

Who knows. Anyway 5 drivers and one passenger braved the day in North Devon. My start was a 6.15am alarm, Then of at 7.15 I headed off from sunny? Exmouth to Great Torrington to meet up with Andy. A quick 'pee' stop for me and we were off, well Andy was, like a bat out of hell! 1/2 a mile later I round a bend and there he was waiting, and asking if I was OK? I was, but just too slow! I had just spent and hour and a half tippy toeing through ice laden roads trying to protect my pride and joy and here he was, fearless!!! along some of the best roads going. Ah well, what the hell I just followed him. Stop off at Umberleigh to be joined by Jonathan and we the sped off to Bampton to be joined by Jeremy and Claire (Outsiders from the Somerset lot!!), but we are open to anybody joining us! Once again the famous Caterham Bladder stop was necessary, so we all piled into the loo - not together of course. Some brilliant roads and ice, snow and slush later we are joined at Tiverton by Dave, from there on we had the best Blat stretch of road (in my opinion) the one from Bickleigh to Crediton. Fast and challenging - great stuff! So there we were 5 cars up and motored on back up to Torrington stopping off for a warm up and bite to eat at Rosemoor Gardens, where our cars were welcomed with delight from the many visitors enjoying the gardens.

  16. Quoting SBD762: Spotted coming across the bridge. Looked like you were taking the "drivers road" from Bickleigh through to Crediton. Blue, with single Aero, you had no shirt on! Didn't recognise you. Are you a Devon member? Visitor? Edited to say Tuesday 16 September

  18. Apologies if this is on previous threads. I've looked but can't find exactly what I am looking for. Went to fill up with fuel today. (I have a 2007 K series, Silver Aero filler cap, unmodified) When I unlocked the cap I was confronted by a white grungy seal hanging there, almost as caught in the cap as I removed it. If I didn't know better I would have said it was silicone, but that would not mix with petrol! It was very soft , white plus some grungy colour, it was thick, unlike a nice round cork seal, about 8-10mm ragged appearance My question is, any suggestions. I have yet to strip it down. But from what I have seen on the Caterham online store site, it seems a simple cork seal would have been sufficient between body and filler cap. Is it bodged or ......? I do have a picture but I'm crap at getting a photo on to BC
  19. Requested 77 Got 16! CW , we're brilliant, really quick dealing with it all. Well done Alex, and thank you for arranging it all

To be fair, first come first served. However if above falls through, then Blatmail me. I have from 2007 car, very good condition, with bulbs, and mounting arms (I lowered mine)
  21. Expecting also to get shot down in flames here,,,,,,, but ,,,, and I am with Chris956 Surely this is not issue of sump height etc etc. It is about a driving skill. You have already said you take it very careful. That's the best start Next, either go over diagonally placing one of your front wheels on the hump. Or go over straight , again with only one wheel on the hump. Or , am I missing a point here, is this a "particular" type of hump?
  22. 17 Lotus and Caterham 7's at Thornfalcon Classic, Taunton, Somerset today! Well, somebody had to put it on here! Otherwise we don't get spotted From Somerset, Devon and Dorset
  23. Hello everyone, I am putting this on Blatchat on behalf of a Cornish member who asked me as Devon AR to help. There is no AR in Cornwall Willie Pascoe is one of our older members and sadly has to give up his Caterham. His wish is that it would go to a fellow Club Member / genuine Lotus Caterham 7 enthusiast and does not want to put it on PH. PLEASE, may I ask you to respect his wishes and not put this on other sites. Other than posting this for him it is nothing to do with me, so do contact him direct and please do not give his phone number or e-mail to any non-club members Details as follows. 2006 K series 1.4 X Power conversion - speak to Willie Aluminium and Red 5 Speed Cloth Seats Tonneau Cover Side deflectors - no doors Very good condition 2,000 miles (genuine) Looking for £14,950 ONO Taxed and will come with a new MOT e mail william181@btinternet.com or telephone 01209 714558 all the best Regards Steve (Devon AR)
