  2. Sorry last 8 sold to Dave Smitheram. Obviously a market for these as I sold 200 in a flash. The part number is 316-M1/B32 15.0mm (The 15.00mm is larger than the standard 12.00mm to fit Caterham stays) If BigHead try the old minimum order value malarkey, try asking for some samples or failing that contact RiF who is putting together a fixing kit. Richard was in the throes of purchasing a quantity. Regards Phil SummerLightningHaze
  3. Thanks for that Ian 😔 Just what I needed to cheer me up on another bright day. *cry* SummerLightningHaze
  4. Ah! I see - A bit like a more gentle rivnut without the need for a gun. Sounds good. SummerLightningHaze
  5. Should have been me in my dark blue Superlight but I’ve been poorly sick all bl**dy weekend. ☹️ ☹️ ☹️ Phil SummerLightningHaze

  8. Clearly there is more than one way to skin a cat and each method has probably worked for some and failed for others; however, IMHO what Richard is proposing is a step in the right direction. Offering a fixing method/kit that has a proven track record and will give a high degree of confidence to enthusiast of differing skill levels. I don’t think one can totally design-out possible mechanical failures such as blade-runner has highlighted. QC problems are a fact of life in engineering. It’s just a bugger when it’s your wing bouncing down the road. *cry* SummerLightningHaze

  11. IMHO they will both wear out relatively quickly so its down to Price vs. Performance. Summer Lightning Haze

  14. I changed from 185x13” 70 A021s allround to 185/205x13” 60 R888 this summer gone. I found the car immediately became more skittish over uneven surfaces with the R888 but cornered better in dry conditions when the tyres were warm. This could be bump steer which was masked with the 70 profile tyres – I don’t know. Need to investigate. Not as confident in the wet as I was with the A021s. Reading previous threads this would appear to be a common view of R888s. Phil Summer Lightning Haze
  15. Go to same subject on TechTalk if interested. *arrowright* Please don't post here. Summer Lightning Haze
  16. When I fitting mine earlier this year I simply unplugged a square shaped 4 pin connector block which is located just inside the side skin by the fuel tank. However, I believe the connecting method can vary according to model, age or personal modification. The problem then is…… With such a large connector block you can’t pull the loom through the old rubber mounting block. My solution was to carefully cut this away and retain for later use. With the loom freed up you can easily mount to the CF and drill without disconnecting any wires. I recommend you drill some drain holes at the stage. I used the old rubber mounting block, cut down and superglued back together with the loom passing through the centre hole, as a sealing grommet for the 25mm (approx.) hole in the wing. Again, the size of hole can vary depending on who built the car, but IMHO it works much better than a grommet. They look the dogs. I can mail you pics if interested. Phil Summer Lightning Haze

  19. Will the anonymous maker be selling at a fixed price to L7 members rather than the lottery that is e-Bay? They do look good though Do they fit the standard wing stays? Phil Summer Lightning Haze
  20. Whats the ID of the tube (Or OD of vent from battery) I used opaque silicone tubing and vented from battery down to bell housing area which Is about 1 mtr all told. I can ‘obtain’ tube from work. If your vent pipe is the same as mine I can send you some. Phil Summer Lightning Haze
  21. I paid £15.00 per tyre only last month. V expensive but IMHO worth every penny if the alloy wheels remain intact. I get the impression that suppliers don’t like fitting only and prefer to supply tyres as well hence they load the price. Summer Lightning Haze
  22. 2 x 185 x 60, 13 & 2 x 205 x 60, 13 from Simply Tyres. £225.00 including carriage. Steve very helpful. Regards Phil Edited: That's carriage included Summer Lightning Haze
