  1. I have a 2000 Superlight and the front pads will need changing soon. They are pretty poor at the moment. Would the same Mintex parts apply for me? Phil Summer Lightning haze
  2. Hi Dave, Thanks for e-mail. Unable to reply due to 'failed delivery' message. Fully understand if they are sold. I'm on holiday until 22nd May therefore, will not be in a position to respond immediately if they become available again. Send pics anyway to phil@goddin.me.uk *cool* Phil Summer Lightning haze
  3. Hi Dave, If other David is unsuccessful I may be interested. Please can you send pics? Phil Summer Lightning haze
  4. What’s the latest on the tyres? Are they still up for grabs and where are you located? Summer Lightning haze
  5. Spotted Saturday, late morning - White (and polished Aluminium I think) on the A24 heading north. I was in dark blue Superlight sitting in slow moving traffic ☹️ Picked up a scar on the nose cone during that jaunt due to huge stone flying of a lorry tyre - which p***ed me off! 13. Yes please... e-mail request sent to home. Phil Summer Lightning haze
  14. My old 1700 Sprint (TBT 141T if anyone out there owns it) had a sticky plate all its life and sailed through MOTs without comment. Was I just lucky or have the regs changed since the late 80s? What the hell – I’ll risk it Phil Summer Lightning haze
  15. Thanks Roy, My thoughts exactly on the fasteners...... Hot air gun sounds a good idea. I want to place an adhesive number on the top of the nose so the plates just gotta go! Phil Summer Lightning haze
  16. Does anyone know the Dzus part numbers for the 4 x twist-lock fasteners used on the nose cone? They are crap 🙆🏻 and I’m sure someone can supply a better product. Also, my front number plate appears to be attached with double sided tape. Is this easy to remove without damaging the carbon? Cheers Phil Summer Lightning haze
  17. I have mine fitted to the vacant petty strut fixing on the roll bar. Could be illegal but who cares! Phil Summer Lightning haze

    Paintwork Repairs

I have a similar problem with my paintwork. I can count every trip by the number of extra stone chips and scratches that appear, plus I have slight electrolytic corrosion where the skin meets the chassis about midway. Can the corrosion be ground out or treated? Will it just reappear? Why oh why do manufacturers use light colours for undercoat which shows every scratch on a dark car. Mine is dark blue pearlescent - Impossible to blow-in so complete panel re-spray is the only answer. As Grant says, try to cultivate a ‘don’t worry’ attitude but its hard! Phil Summer Lightning haze
  20. I have just begun to hear a high pitched zinging noise coming from my fuel pump. (It may have always been there) I cannot detect any loss of fuel or power. Should I worry???? Thanks Phil Summer Lightning haze

    Throttle cable

1.6K Series Superlight Whilst adjusting my pedal box I have found a seriously frayed throttle cable which needs to be replaced. ☹️ Is this a standard Rover part or special to CC? Where is the best place to purchase? I also find a broken clutch pedal retaining spring which I guess is used to take up slack on the cable. Is this important, if so, where can I obtain? Thanks Phil Summer Lightning haze
  23. Hi Julian, Have you sold it yet? See my e-mail direct to you. Cheers Phil
