  3. Wanted Aero filler cap assembly in black, suitable for Duratec car with keys. Or anyone ever sprayed a silver one black, any thoughts? Thanks Nick
  4. Mark, Not sure where you are but take it to a good suspension 7 specialist. I had similar issues (a CC built car brought from a 7 specialist) and the rack was incorrectly fitted. Had it flat floored at PGM, they found a number of improvements as well as the rack and it totally transformed the car. Nick
  5. Another vote for the Fuchs Pro S in the 5w-40 grade. I got mine from Opie oils
  6. Just to add to the conversation, my xflow had an un pressurised system. I ran it for 15 years with no issues, including track days and a couple of very hot CLM trips.
  7. For sale Specialized rockhopper men’s mountain bike, 21 inch frame suitable for riders of about 6 foot. Good used condition. Well maintained and regularly cleaned, lubricated. Recent new tyres with a Kevlar weave, this is only the second set since new. Collection from PO14 Hampshire J9 M27. on eBay at 140, will sell here for £130 Nick
  8. Is there enough material to take to larger hole out to a size that will fit the 5/16 UNF Helicoil?
  9. Steve, having suffered a similar dilemma when changing the oil on my R400 D I decide to use Fuchs pro s. I have had no issues or concerns and will be using that next oil change.

  11. Items withdrawn from this site. Thanks
  12. For sale, Britool ACTB 100 3/8 drive torque wrench. Range between 20 and 100 NM and ratcheting drive. Good used condition, however the small red cap at the end of the handle is missing (does not affect in any way how it works). £30. Can send photos. Haynes Webber Carb book, used £10 Collection from Hampshire M27 J9 or postage at cost. Thanks
  13. All cross flows (in my humble opinion) "breathe" more than the modern engines (well mine did). If you are getting very little oil carry over to the catch tank then everything should be fine. It might be worth carrying out a compression test just to be sure. cheers Nick
  14. A technique I have used in the past on a xflow engine mount bolt, is to drill a small hole 3-4mm-ish into the offending bolt/stud and gently tap a torx bit into it. This, if you are lucky will allow you to unscrew the broken bit. The advantages of this is that it tends not to spread out the stub as an easy-out does and you still have the option of drilling a bigger hole and using a bigger torx bit. Cheers Nick

    Oil Filters

Given that mine was an ex CC car which came with a Mann filter, i went with that. As i intend to change the oil and filter every year i am happy with Mann.
  16. When i had my crossflow, the pervious owner had drilled and tapped a couple of fittings for the 2nd/3rd cylinders of the inlet manifold for brake bleed nipples. You can then use a motorbike carb balancing tool which just plugs in without all of that faff or removing filters. Took about 2 minutes to balance the carbs when hot. Cheers Nick
  17. That's the center cap sorted, however still after wheel nuts (one to a full set). Thanks Nick
  18. Does anyone have a couple of MB wheel nuts surplus to requirements. Will also consider a full set. Also after a Centre cap for the same. Thanks Nick
  19. Interesting to note the different grades mentioned as CC state MOTORSPORT OIL 5W50 - DURATEC & K-SERIES on their parts store.
  20. Quick question, for a R400 D should I use Fuchs Titan Race Pro R 15W-50 or Millers Motorsport? Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick
  21. When I asked the nice man from Autoglym the same question at the CC Easter open day he suggested their super resin polish. It does remove some of the grime and add shine. However I might invest in a can of Woodsilk to give it a go.
