  1. Figure out the manufacturer e.g. the clio cups super duper dampers can be refurbished by sending them back to the manufacturer as they're msport spec units.

    Steering bush

I think the whole bracket it sits on is removable isn't it? Mine is. Why not pull the steering column and refit the bush once the bracket holding it is removed?
  3. Mine's always been bad for fuel consumption versus other 7's if that makes you feel any better. Vx / K series seem much better 2.0 zetec on tbs Edited by - millsn on 6 Jul 2009 18:16:57

  8. If anything they'd get more springy but I doubt it very much unless they're broken or misshapen
  9. Mine's got an angle drive off the gearbox. the angle drive is held on with a circlip and god heolp you if that's come away refittign it is a proper pita. Hopefully your speedo cable has just spun itself loose and you can reinsert it to the angle drive and do up the knurled round collar to hold it in place. If you do this, do check that the 1mm square section connecting piece doesn't fall out of the speedo cable whilst you're doing it up or nothing will happen no matter how well done up it is.
  10. and unless you're stateside, it should be "silencer" not muffler "Queen's English" police Edited by - millsn on 1 Jul 2009 20:57:07
  11. Get yourself a proper crimper and you won't regret it. Mucho satisfying and deals with all those concerns you used to have when you crimped using pliers and thought "I can't believe that'll hold" primarily because it won't.

    Hose Clips

How much are the OE ones you see on Ford BMW and the like, I imagine the tool is the expensive bit but they look nice and neat.
  13. nverona: I use the term "stretch " lightly
  14. They look handy, thanks. Slight amusingly their website states it is "powered by IBS, " glad I don't live near it then.
  15. Think I need an OE that I can ask at.
  16. Can anyone point me in the direction of a company that has a wide variety of belt lengths? I need one for a zetec but the one I've always fitted requires lerage to fit it over the alternator and I'm more and more convinced that applying that leverage kyboshes the alternator bearings prematurely. I need a belt that is maybe 10mm longer o/all but I'm struggling to find one at my local factor. Edited by - millsn on 26 Jun 2009 19:21:48
  17. Then install a cigar lighter so you can plug your conditioner into it rapidly.
  18. Come to think of it, I was disguised as a puddle at the time
  19. Dumb question maybe but have you got removable diagonals? Things are lots easier if they're removed. Also, you may well find that the angle you have to put the engine is needs to be really high initially, bizarrely so. Once the gbox clears the tunnel you can drop the angle loads
  20. ....can I drive from Peterborough to London Monday afternoon and back to Peterborough in the pouring rain Monday eve (the 15th), hood up on a Monday evening which was fairly light at 49mph most of the way back cos it was honking with rain and then find not a single spotted, not even one hint. One day, just one day. do you have to do a celebrity style heads up to let people know you're on your way out??
  21. Long shot but check the exhaust manifold flanges where it meets the head. The weld here can fail making the car run poorly. esp if it was difficult getting the whole lot to line up, erhem Edited by - millsn on 20 Jun 2009 11:45:05
