  1. Thanks for comments As engine is just rebuild: bearings clearance are OK As I use a SPA jauge not a caterham one: Oil pressure info is accurate (no problem on showed values) and low oil temp (86°) mean no oil overheating problem I will start by increasing idle from 900 to 1200 (track car) then check oil grade....and finally think about pump efficiency
  2. Thanks for answers. Olivier excuse my bad english: So it mean adjusting screw have no effect on minimal oil pressure? If I adjust it to reach 70psi(+20) as maximal value I will still have 10psi at idle ?! It do not have an cooler cooler but a oil Pressure/temp gauge saying 89° as maximal value (sender located just before oil come back in tank (so should be maximal value for temp and minimal one for pressure )) I will double check oil level but I have between 5/6 liters in.
  3. On a Pace dry sump (Duratec engine) On a track day when oil is hot oil pressure could be as low as 10psi at idle and 50psi at 5000rpm. According minister power "optimal engine working parameter" it should be at least 20psi at idle and 70psi at 5000rpm (falling to 60psi at 8000rpm) Engine just have been rebuilt and do not have any problem. I just need to adjust oil pressure via oil pump but how to do? When oil is hot? At idle? at middle range? Screwing? unscrewing ? Anything special to know? Thanks for your help ? 😶‍🌫️
  4. What do they mean? Mine have : 09 02 Have been made in Febuary 2009 ? or September 2002 ? Or nothing to do with manufacturing date 😬 Thanks for your help 😶‍🌫️
  5. Ian, Unfortunatly I didn't take my french race licence this year (around 450Eur). What is price of MSA one ? I'm affraid it would be prohibitive for only one race at the end of season .....and anyway I perhaps should be UK resident to have one Is SEMSEC offer this discount on regular basis ? Nicolas
  6. Ian I'm interrested in the handicap race My car is S3 Duratec supawide with cage on slicks or R888. I'm French live near Calais so Brands in very near for me. However I do not have anything related to british motorsport: MSA logbook etc.. Can we sort something ?
  7. Yes my car have SV DD tube front wishbones are Gary's ones modified to keep shocks original location (in fact retain widetrack shocks with same angle) Pics here Do you have an idea of merrick's (or other supawide racer) wheels size? Is merrick's familliar here?
  8. Yees! If you know something interresting (Spa 😬) and cheap (not Spa.. ) before let me know !
  9. Thanks for taking time to check Pendennis, I think there is a confsion with "castrada" another frenchy with a duratec car I found with search option he asked some info to on CXR wheels size and ET...but for a std width de dion. I think we had a chat last year at Lydden hill (was spectator). So your car is supawide rear and wide track front ? without understeer problem it seem (Worried me) Mine is a bit different using gary modified supa wide wishbone to use conventionnal shocks location (In fact modified to use wide track shocks with same angle as wide track). Pic here What front wheels width do you run with 175 Kumho? 6,5 ?! Thanks 😶‍🌫️ Nicolas
  10. I just finish my supawide conversion Rear wheels are CXR 8,5 ET24 (They fit perfectly std rear arches)..but now they look like far to narrow now ! I would like to know if some of supawide owner could let me know there wheel size front and rear (and ET if possible) Interrested also by advice about wheel size: I think 10' will fit but it probably mean I need 8 front....is this a good idea on a 260ch Duratec ? or I need to sacrify look for efficiency on track with narrower wheels? Thanks 😶‍🌫️
  11. First time something is easier than expected 😬
  12. I would like to modify my MB width by myself but I do not know: - torque value for bolts ? - what type of silicone use ? Any advice welcome !
  13. Do you have one? Or do you know where I can find one SH?

  16. Thanks for your comments. I have warm up my engine today (idle+small revs) 15mn later: Water was 80° and oil 42° ...and today was a warm 25° day...I do not want to think about the Oil temp value in december Also on SPA gauge max oil temp value recorded is 86° So I definitively need a solution to warm up my oil faster and not to cool it. I will put a laminova on it. 15mn (900sec!) to obtain 42°as too long and if you do not have an oil temp gauge you will probably think that with 15mn warm up and 80° water you are a carefull owner and can trash your engine after to fisrt laps....that's not true.
  17. Many thanks for you picture Jason. As far I know you choose your laminova accordingly with your engine capacity. Is this the smaller one ?! (as your car was BEC) Not so easy to fit in a duratec DS engine bay.....
  18. Thanks for your comments. So question is why put a oil radiator on R500D ? A Laminova will be a better oil heater/cooling management tool isn't it ? If some of you have experience/pictures of Laminova fitted to Caterham engine bay I'm VERY interested !!
  19. Nigel, Max temp oil recorder on my 260ch (aftermarket) dry sumped Duratec is 87° Sender is located in oil filter housing (so just before oil go back in oil tank). I have a bigger oil tank than the R500D one. I have told that bigger it is better it is as it help to reduce temp (larger alloy contact) but anyway sender is located just before tank so it do not modify our comparaison. Sender accurency have been tested and is OK. This why I think a laminova could be better than an oil raditor on my car as it will help to reach faster 60° and will help too to keep it at same temperature as water temp when hot. What type of water temp do you have on track day ? Nicolas
  20. In fact since I installed an SPA dual gauge with oil temp I realised how long oil need to reach minimal 60°.. So problem is perhaps often more how to warm oil than how to cool it (Oil never reach 90° on track on my dry sumped duratec) However I do not find a lot of Laminova fitted on Caterham. Why? It can be helpful for both (heating and cooling oil) isn't it ? thanks for your help 😶‍🌫️
  21. On my duratec conversion oil temp never go more than 90° without oil cooler on road or track. I need to change my radiator so was looking for a R500D one wih the nuild in oil cooler But I'm worry about my oil temp. It could have difficulty to reach 60°c during winter.. So my question is: R500D have an oil thermostat ? Thanks for your help 😶‍🌫️
  22. Hi, Please could you send me a pic at info at spidtec dot com Thanks !
