  1. Pay your subs on time
  2. Limiting dimension is vehicle lighting regs, ie height from ground (when laden?) In practice unless you are going for an SVA it will be done by eye ( which are sometimes wonky )
  3. I have 40mm Weber TBs with a 244 cam, but I dont know if it would be better with 45's As an aside with AMMOs big 52mm throttle bodies working out the area of TBs vs. horsepower 300bhp Duratech 52mm TBs = 28mm2 per horsepower 150bhp XFlow 40mm TBs = 33.5mm2 per horsepower 150bhp XFlow 45mm TBs = 42.5mm2 per horsepower So actually my TBs are less restrictive than AMMos 😳
  4. Fuel pressure regulator 🤔
  5. Shimano systems use oil, most other systems Hope etc. use Dot4/ 5.1 etc. You may try jigging the bike/lever around so the caliper is the highest point of the system and re-try bleeding. N

    Short drivers

My Mrs of similar dimensions is OK with Tillet type seats which is strange as they are regarded as being good for getting lower and further back in the car 🤔 (I do have under dash hand brake) However If you mean you have S-Type seats with the removable base there are plenty of threads on here showing how you can buy a new base from Oxted Trimming and make a foam seat for a low profile base. There is no reason why you could not use this base to build up a higher swab with less under thigh support to allow straighter legs. The genius of this idea (if I say so myself 😶‍🌫️) is that you can swap the bases over depending on who is driving meaning you might get away without moving the pedals. Nick
  7. I am not sure that was the question asked. 🤔 I read it as what limits the current during the "injector on" pulses. If you are using resistored injectors then it might be constant voltage regulation, it not then it will probalby be current regulation which is likely achieved with PWM, but dont know definitively. Unless you meant the answer that rob said which I agree with. Nick
  8. With an old 4" exhaust I got over 120db @ 20meters during every 0-60 run at brooklands. 😬
  9. I have duct tape covering mine 😳 The other has a crank case breather N
  10. Really good vacuum bleeders are I think superior, I understand that Ford (and others) use them to help fill a dry system, the advantage being that you are more likely to get fluid into all those nooks and crannies around the hand brake adjusting mechanism if the air has been removed by vacuum. Even when refreshing a system the tendency is for a trapped air bubble to expand which has got to help its removal compared to compressing it. In the real world the vacuum will not be perfect from the pump and the pressure is being applied in the wrong direction for the seals so they may start leaking outside air into the system. from the seals (m/c piston etc.). but I have not tried one
  11. Mick If you read Peters post he did not say that John Hartley is full of bull****, he said that adding 19% to the Wheel horsepower number to get a flywheel horsepower was bull****.
  12. I can confirm that the rear bush on my early De-Deon is not in the same place as measurements I have read off here 🙆🏻. I would be very very sure before starting 😬
  13. Engine Sump Exhaust Alternator? Mounts Bellhousing Engine Mounts Modified gearbox Mount Tunnel top - as gearbox/lever exit further back. hoses Fueling - you may be able to get away with using the homogolated engine (while fuel injected) with carbs, imperfect but if not Fuel system, swirl pot or new tank and high pressure fuel lines Nick
  14. Hi Richard Goodies at front Door so I dont forget I will be in a boring grey estate as I dont have an MOT currently 🙆🏻 Route from Dartford - I am not really the person to ask for that as I live to the west but I guess that a short bit south on the M25 then go a bit further south and try to pick up the A25 to head west until you get to around Dorking then head south if that makes sense. There is a link to the map on the Surrey Meet thread. Cheers Nick

    HOT AIR

Colin - I dont have a heater valve 😬 I have a old skool flat filter. I was surprised how hot the valves of the caterham fresh air heater were getting when in the off position, There may not be flow but there is still a large degree of heat soak. Depends how bad you think that is as to weather it is worth removing the heater or not. Nick

    HOT AIR

I removed the heater for the last long summer trip and covered the footwell vents with a sheet of alloy. Made a difference simply not having a hot box of water above your knees. If you are thinking of ducting air in, take care where you take the air from, if in doubt try driving with the pedal box cover removed on a hot day, the draught may be impressive but the air has gone through the radiator and past the engine, pretty unpleasant. I was thinking of taking a tumble dryer hose (as suggested) but running it inside the engine bay and round to the front of the radiator, not perfect but cheap and removable. The ultimate must be to make up a simple box that mimics the external shape of the heater box picking up air from the "heater louvres" down through the hole where the heater was. You could then go as far as you wanted with adding fans and air filters. Nick
  21. Angus Have you shopped already? I think there may be one (Gunsons or simialar) knocking around in my mums garage that she is never going to use. Any use Nick
  22. Mick could I take these please cheers Nick

  24. My opinion is Halfords pro are excelent, if you are thinking of getting a chunk of stuff then their £150 set is often on offer for £99 and the club gets vouchers at 10% off so about £90. I like them because you can buy a set then go in and top up with individual sockets / spanners as required. N
