  1. It would seem that you need to get a representative sample of the cooling water. I would suggest loosening the Jubilee clip at the bottom hose of the radiator -AFTER you have ensured that any coolant from the expantion tank that may get syphoned in is of good quality. or you could take it from one of the heater hoses, you dont need to empty the whole radiator, and even if you did there is not the bleeding problems that you have with the Rovere Vx engines.(in my experience) N
  2. Surely if you want the pedal closer to you ie nearer the back of the car then you want the pivot in the rearmost position as tbhall suggests - not the forwardmost as your reply states - or were you doing the "but when i look into the pedal box everything is upside down" thing? N
  3. As mentioned by Arnie Vulcan do have considerable experience with x-flows - when I rebuilt my head I went there for the bits and he suggested that the valve stem oil seals were next to useless as although they come with the little springy metal collar to compress the neck of the seal around the stem there is no method of fixing the base of the seal around the guide. This means that the bottom of the seal will get pulled up off the guide and then progressivly squished by the valve spring. He suggested to remove the spring collar and just fit the rubber part of the seal as it has a better chance of staying in place, I will have to go back and check how mine are standing up but no smoke so far. If my memory serves correctly then Dave Walker suggested that I run it without valve stem seals at all - assuming the guides are in good condition.

    noise

If you have looked at the brooklands page it is worth noting that the Meter in use only reads to 110dba, My car and F737 RPJ have consistent 110db readings which should be read as 110db+ Aparently I had not even reached the meter when it flashed up 110+ so I have no idea how loud it is, That is a bit of a moot point as I would only be allowed onto the few unlimited noise track days. PS I had to cut and paste the link to the brooklands page, I was not able to find it via the home page, was I just being vague or is there other info that can only be reached if you have a link?
