    Unpainted S3 carbon fibre nose cone in very good used condition. Previous owner had fitted some fluorescent tape to the nosecone - when I removed the tape, the glue has remained, but this could be polished off or if you were planning to paint the nose cone and leave a carbon fibre band, this would then be covered over. No badge attached, but I have a high quality Caterham nose sticker that would look ideal and of course be included - added lightness too! £325 - collection only from Thatcham, RG18

    What is the date stamp on these: 2 x CR 500 205 x 13 tyres about 500 miles use then stored correctly on tyre rack £ 100 Also where are you located?

    I honestly wouldn't bother with a second hand unit. I bought a new branded unit from my local motor factors for £100 - it's just not worth the hassle and uncertainty of buying s/h IMHO...

    Another for Powerspeed - I have one on my Superlight R (purchased from Graham King's brother) and it looks the part & performs well. Sounds fantastic, but it also passed the static noise test at Abingdon, so would appear to be trackday noise compliant too!

    Interesting alternative solution Anthony. Certainly the SLR sausage filter isn’t particularly robust and not cheap at £100 ish... I wonder if K&N could be made to work? So what about performance advantage... any dyno/mapping experts out there have any thoughts?

    Interesting post this - I was considering buying a s/h bonnet recently with a filter cut out as I thought it might help the TBs on my SLR breathe a little better - in the end I decided not to as it would have meant repainting the bonnet, so further expensive etc... It does beg two questions though: 1. Would it deliver a performance advantage? The existing foam 'sausage' filter does appear quite cramped with bonnet on. 2. If driven in the rain, even though the foam filter is oiled, would it suck in water and cause engine damage or running issues? Thanks N.

    Personally, I think it would be useful if every item being sold had a listed/guide price - from the outset everyone is clear on what is expected and of course there is always room to haggle... just my two-penneth!

    I've had an unfortunate experience recently on blatchat where a fellow member agreed to purchase something from me and then went radio silence, despite polite pms from me asking what was happening (and an initially lengthy chat when I offered friendly advice etc). Quite disappointed by this behaviour especially on blatchat which is usually very reliable. I always start by offering Caterham parts on this forum only as it seems the right thing to do, however this recent experience did make me question why I bother! Fortunately another person from Blatchat came along purchasing the item and the transaction was of the usual high standards, so will continue to advertise on here first for now... Anyone else had any recent dodgy dealings on here?

    Always liked the MGC... my cousin had one 30 odd years ago (YLN280G) but sold it and I saw it at Goodwood B’fast club a few years back. Lovely torquey engine and I believe the handling is much better with modern tyres. I’m sure I read somewhere that the original road test in the 60s was done in a car with under inflated tyres! Who knows, but it got a bit of a bad rep for handling as a result. Lovely looking car... good luck with the sale.
