  1. ... and if you haven't got forged pistons, with all the aforementioned mods, you'll be needing a set of those too!
  2. Good to know - thanks Andrew.
  3. Simon - I'm now sorted, so over to you!
  4. Thanks - pm sent Saltyhair!
  5. anyone planning to upgrade their iPhone in the near future and willing to sell it on? I currently have a '6' so looking for something much newer and in good condition - ideally a XS but would consider other models etc. Thanks
  6. Been meaning to ask on here for a while now, but my VHPD K series head has been manually stamped MP128 on a little flat section adjacent to the dizzy... any idea what this relates to?
  7. Hmmm... I'm not sure I'd feel completely comfortable with a fuel cell as a passenger!!!
  8. Thanks SM25T - I'm at the moment planning (way) ahead of an event to happen next year! Forewarned is forearmed as they say.
  9. Great - thanks folks! (Tried the search function here which just returned gobbleaduke..)
  10. If I were to replace the clutch on my SLR (K series c. 200bhp) what clutch manufacturer would people recommend? I've heard certain brands have a habit of cracking in higher power K series? Also, with engine out, what else would you look at replacing - CRB I guess... anything else? Thanks!
  11. Noticed a light blue 7 parked up as I drove past - not a local car that I recognised?
  12. Hi there, I did exactly this to my last 7 and compiled some notes on how to do it. PM your email address and I'll forward a word doc - I also have a scale template for the shape & size hole you need to make. Cheers Nick
  13. Remember, if you go down the TBs route you’ll also need an Emerald ECU and map to power them... plus you’re likely to need forged pistons as you’ll be revving the engine higher and putting it under more stress. Also if you’re going to the effort of TBs you really should port the head to maximise the benefit... and so it continues!!
  14. I recently fitted bare CF cycle wings to my 7 and then covered them in a ceramic coating to try and prevent white spots - so far so good as the car got quite wet returning from the Fish n Chip blat and still look as they should. Also, I never wash the car in direct sunlight and I always remove water from the CF areas first as a priority - good practice I feel.
  15. Thanks SM25T - will give it a go! Really hoping I'm not going to need them this weekend on the 'blat of the year' - so looking forward to it as I've not attended it before.
  16. Yes I there are tabs John - I have had the pliers on them already, but suspect there is a bit more fettling to be done. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something - looks like I'm not, so will have another play later on to try and sort it out.
  17. The looseness is between the arm and the blade - nothing else. The other blade/arm I have is nice and tight - I can't pull them apart, whereas the other one will part quite easily and I fear that if fitted and I use the wipers, they will part leaving me with an arm scoring my lovely screen!
  18. Hi Jonathan, Sorry - I'm no sure what you mean. The arm enters the receptacle and pushing it in, the locating nipple 'locates'. I have wondered if I should slide something between the arm and the spring lever to make it a really snug fit, thereby stopping them from parting. I did try this yesterday by trying to insert the end of a tie wrap between the two, but even that was too thick! I don't want to end up messing around with the other - that currently is nice aand tight, so want to leave well alone!
  19. Hi folks, Fitting my windscreen to the 7 this week for he first time in a number of years - want to have the option of some protection on the Fish n Chip run this coming weekend! Found my blades and arm - both are new. One is ready to put of the car - no problem there, but the other is a new arm with a new blade. I know how to slide the arm into the blade part and place the locating nipple in the correct place, but it is too loose to fit to the car. What am I doing wrong? It looks identical to the other blade/arm that is nice and tight! Should i just glue or does anyone have any hints or tips? If glue is the solution - any recommendations of type etc? Thanks!
  20. Switch to 13" wheels Andrew - much better all round! Hope to catch up with you at the Fish n Chip run...
  21. I'm not sure where mine is from (came with car), but it might be RiF? Anyway, as per pic, it fits quite snuggly against the wiper spindles and is flat. Just a thought - could your aero screen be for a metric car and you have an imperial (or visa versa) which is causing the issue? Not sure if there is a difference in the aero screen design for the different chassis - just a suggestion?
