  1. #Quote: This would save money on catch tanks too!Definately a magnetic drain plug though!!!! You'll still need a catch tank as the oil tank will still be free vented to atmosphere or at least can be, I realise some connect the breather to the rocker cover and the the oil tank with a neg pressure. I prefer the former.
  2. Kevsta, Top man, your hard works paying off. Regards the tank, if it's going to be a Caterham version you could spec a few tweaks specifically for the Pace set up: 1 x outlet (1/2) R/H/S 2 x Inlets (3/4BSP) 1 each side for those wishing to run a cooler too. 1 x breather straight to catch tank 1 x drain magnetic plug saves faffing at oil change time. 1 x oil temp boss? They may even make a batch of catch tanks to match ?? Cheers
  3. Casbar, There were 2 6 speeders recently on ebay as I was bidding for both (and lost both) 1 was with a race engine and the box was sold off line by 'rony' for £1350 box only, the other was sold by aclassann to yamasthegreek for £1180. And cetrainly no one emailed me on either, - I always report any spoof / corrupt mails to ebay. Mike's correct, a box will only sell for what the 'market' is prepared to pay, bit like an auction really! Based on my own experience, everyone I've dealt with on L7C has been, without exception, fair and honest, which I always reciprocate.
  4. This may be a stupid question so I'll apologise now!, but is the BS kit the same as the one from DVA or does Dave add to this as talking with Dave revealed that his kit comes with throttle linkage etc etc and is fully compatible with the EU2 rail and injectors for the K series. And has anyone fitted an airbox with a Brise DS tank? as the header tank usually moves over to the right of the bay pretty much where the filter / ducting needs to be? cheers....
  5. I'm interested (definately) in a BB on a Bernard Scouse, Airbox kit, trumpets and linkages etc for a K on Jenvey DTH TB's. Soon as you like please ! Thanks
  6. I managed to negotiage 12.5% on a gearkit and LSD with Dan @ Tran X and the offer of more discount was made if I went back for subsequent orders.......... Might be worth a call, they can also do the instalation too if required, and build them to your requiremnts, from tame to out and out animal !
  7. The Tran X plate LSD I bought a couple of weeks back cost me £563 incl VAT for the unit. 55/90 ramp angle with 25/30 preload Give Dan a call @ Tran X on 024 7665 9061 I found him extremely helpfull.
  8. Give Dan Jones a call @ Tran X, he's just built me a plate LSD with 30 degree ramps and reduced preload too, ..........And a nice close 5 speed cluster too! Price wasn't OTT either. http://www.tran-x.com/GearkitHTML/gearkitHome.html
  9. In an attempt to save some dosh I've been some digging for the best supply on these, Norman reccomended Questmead (Thanks Norman) who can supply the parts numbers off the AP website (cover CP3748-6, plate CP2257-9) less the CRB, however CC are insistant thet their plate CP2257-44 has uprated springs and the other is not suitable! Has anyone used CP3478-6 with CP2257-9 in there car does it work, or has anyone had a failure? Is there a difference? or merely different part number and a CC price ! CRB seems to be closed shop via CC though Thanks in advance
  10. Scottydog YHM re rocker cover and verniers
  11. I've not heard of people blocking the feed holes up after all the VHPD was designed to run with solid lifters...... It's common to solder the oil holes up in hydraulic lifters when converting them to solid........
  12. Gareth, I'm sure the VHPD head I bought off Tom has oil feed holes and I'm 99.9% certain that Tom run's one with 285H with hydraulic lifters, Drop Tom a mail and he'll be able to confirm. cheers
  13. I've another of his heads being 'tweaked & Iveyed' as we speak.................
  14. Or Superlite.co.uk .........a slight highjack here but does anybody know who makes the 13" 8 spokes for CC ?? Thanks
  15. Yep the RS2000 BH will fit, it's worth noting that in it's original guise it was designed to bolt up to the alloy sump on the RS2000 and so its worth making up some brackets to secure the 2 lower BH bolts back to the block with. It these bolt holes are left unused it's possible with harsh use to crack the BH across where the starter mounts. cheers
  16. I'm interested in a bellhousing Wet sump version required More info please............. Thanks
  17. CC only list 1 clutch now for all 'K' variants 1.4 thro' R500, it's the AP kit - according to the guy I spoke to this morning anyway.
  18. Paul, I'm going to see if the site administrator can activate a compulsary spell & grammar check on all my threads prior to posting !!
  19. ..."i've got the freestyle inboard suspension." ........are you bragging or complaining...?
  20. some excellent comments, I checked out alu belgom on the web, wax additive lasts for weeks..............Hmm could be an ally / carbon I think !! I suppose it's no worse than having to polish the non painted bits on a painted car really, Re bonnet lovers - do these respond well to a light electric buff with a soft mop....? Thanks again guys
  21. I've spoke to the guys @Pace too and was told the colud do an oval tank, but there built to order and around £200, there own not Brise. II'm on holidasy next week so I'll be PC less, but I'm still interested in a oval tank for a K series instalaion. Thanks
  22. need your veiws or experiences here on body finish......... Should I go ally body with carbon wings an be forever polishing or paint it and run the risk of chips??? I've seen good and bad examples of both, I know you can get clear protective strips for he paint work (??) which wards off most wayward stones just like to get a feel for preventative measures and hours with a polishing cloth for he ally version. What do you guys use to keep them pristine ? Thanks
  23. I'm interested in a K series tank brise style ?? (I understand this is avaialble via Pace fro previous convrsations) and hoses etc, I'v already got the Pace kit.
  24. I spoke with the guys @ Pace a couple of weeks ago regarding tanks, the offer the 6.5" version which is an easy clean tank (clips in 2 ) however I've never seen an instalation on these, the alternative Brise 'oval' version fits directly in fornt of the engine (similar to the Apollo), downside is this is expensive and IMO not as well made as the Pace version. Back in x-flow days you could fit a DS tank against the bulkhead, has anyone tried this with a K instalation? Their 6.5" tank offers around 51/2 litres so it's well up on the CC belhousing version.
  25. Interested in the Brise tank (K series) - price dependant
