  2. Paul R Why do you suggest leaving the car out of gear.....? Not heard that one before. Andrew
  3. Hi Tim East or West is of no consequence to me......I have always thought that they built Hadrians Wall about 150 miles too far North! Andrew
  4. It ain't so grim today, oop North! There is a strange yellow object in the sky!!! Shame that I'm stuck int' office..... I live and work on one side of Pennines but originate from Red Rose side! I can give a balanced view.......... Andrew

    v6 engines

SJWB The BRM on that cd is the V16 rather than the H16, but both sound even better in the flesh!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes being of a certain age does have benefits as I been around long enough to hear both in their hey-day, although the V16 was being driven by J.Y.Stewart rather than by Gonzalez! But then, come to that I saw Gonzalez drive the V16 at Goodwood a few years back but that doesn't count, does it? Andrew
  6. Roy Lane of Tech Craft (Multi Speed Event champion) reccomended that I use M1122 on my Seven for speed events. Excellent performance from cold and on the the road but very quickly overheated by track use. Andrew
  7. Peter I would agree with your observations but the VX XE engine just does not seem to like certain oil..and especially Mobil 1! I used Mobil 1 and could never get the tappets to stop rattling, but following a change to Comma Syner G, instant silence!! Can't understand it but it I'm not going to question it.... I think Kenny will express the very same sentiment. As for consumption, my own has a similar output of 200+ bhp and uses negligible amounts even after a sustained thrashing on a trackday or hillclimb. Something must be amiss... 8. Check the main hub centre nut to driveshaft. This has to be very tight indeed...can't recall correct torque, but a lot! Any degree of free play here will translate into a knock on take-up of drive. Well, it worked on mine! Andrew
  9. Simon Just make the overall size of the strut in compliance with the RAC Blue book and bolt it to your grill with some 1/2 aluminium angle. I'm sure there have been numerous postings on this before. Search! Andrew
  10. Can't disagree about Halfords................... Andrew
  11. Ben Nice to hear that you have not left the 'fold'......Your Playstation is seeing regular service and my lad sometimes let me play......or is it the other way around! Best wishes. Andrew
  12. Brent, You mean Comma girls don't fill your dreams?......I use Syner-G! Andrew Edited by - andrew russell on 15 Mar 2002 15:49:21
  13. Alex, Do we detect a note of desperation.........? Andrew
  14. Try the Comma websitehere and use the enquiry facility. Their response is usually very quick and I am sure they will direct you to a nearby dealer. Andrew
  15. A lose wiring connection? Andrew
  16. Click on the 'head' of the poster and this wll reveal his e mail address. Look under FAQ at the head of page for any further clarification. Andrew
  17. I got a length of the stuff from Caterham a few years back....I presume they still can provide it. Otherwise, try a specialist trim supplier..... Andrew
  18. Richard, From you posting it would seem that you have fitted 13" wheels to the front and left 16" at the rear! Does that cause strange handling albeit with light steering? tongue.gif Andrew
  19. Arnie, Could you expand upon the comment about the upgrade to the 'plug'? I presume this is due to extra heat from the higher rated bulbs? I only ask as I have recently half melted my standard connectors on standard 55 watt bulbs....short circuits all over the place! Andrew
  20. According to Yokohama info for the A021R the difference in diameter is 1.1 inches or 29 mm. Accordingly the difference in ride height should only be 14mm or 1/2 inch. Andrew.
  21. Was the third owner Richard Head? Andrew
  22. Alex, How did you manage that? Given the plugs are at the very top of the enging the rest of the car must have been totally submerged or were you simply a little over enthusiastic with a power washer? Or out of luck going through a water splash? My mind is boggling!! Andrew
  23. But then, so is a spark plug spanner, and an allen key to remove the plug lead cover.........and....... The list goes on..... Andrew
  24. Thank God for that......I thought mine had a unique problem!! Andrew
  25. Try Bob Jones at B & J Motors, which is probably the one that Simon refers to above. Taylor Road Urmston Manchester M41 7JQ 0161 748 8663 Well recommended! Andrew
