  3. i don't remember the axle locking but that doesn't mean it didn't as i was trying fairly hard and may not have noticed a very brief lock
  4. my engine broke at a castle combe trackday on friday, has anyone had a similar failure to below?... Braking and changing down into a right hand corner, heard a belt snap/flap about and the engine cut out. Pulled off straight away. Towed back to the pits and found both the alternator and dry sump belts are missing. It was parked half on my trailer and then i noticed most of the contents of the coolant system ran out of the exhaust header joints and onto the floor..... So header tank completely empty and no dry sump or alternator belts... both belts effectively brand new following recent engine swap, correctly tensioned. could severe HGF cause hydraulic lock and snap the belts? is this possible , or is this just a nasty coincidence...   5. my 04 2.0tdi a3 had to have a new gearbox ecu at about 30000 miles. symptoms were that it just sat in neutral. it was covered under warranty lucky because the bill would have been about 1700 quid otherwise. its now got 73000 miles on it with no further problems - yet... we also have a 55 plate touran with the 2.0tdi (manual) - this had to have the flywheel replaced - squeaked this in with 1 week left on the warranty though 😬 i think i'll try bmw next as i don't have the confidence to buy another dsg or vw 2.0 tdi. i also need a tow car and definitely don't think the dsg is up to that!?
  6. thanks - i've tried connecting straight to the battery and getr the same problem, it has a voltage regulator built in to the camera supply already too.... must be something strange in the car wiring? or would this be eliminated by running straight from the battery thanks
  7. hoping the power of blatchat can help... i've installed a solid state camera system into my 7; bullet camera and recording unit with SD card. the recording unit is powered by a battery. the bullet cam powered from the 12v car supply. when running with the engine off the camera picture is great. but, when the engine is running there is a lot of interference on the camera picture. any suggestions what this could be? i've tried connecting straight to the battery and the problem is the same.
  8. ...the power of blatchat 😬 i had wired up the injectors to run paired from pins 1 and 26 when i put in my original k 1800 4 ish years ago. it ran fine like that. tonight i changed the injector loom to use pins 23 and 24 instead and hey presto - the injectors now inject not yet sure why this would be the case (same ecu as before).. guess it's the injector setting in the software but not sure tbh... will investigate some other time - got a drive shaft to repair thanks for the help 😶‍🌫️ Edited by - olij on 26 Apr 2009 23:12:52

  11. so... i get voltage at injector plugs there is a green light at emerald so cps ok there is fuel at the fuel rail the fuel pump primes there is spark at the plugs reset the throttle pot any other suggestions as to what to check would be very welcome Edited by - olij on 26 Apr 2009 20:22:53
  12. trying to change the rear wheel bearings on my de dion 7..... the wheel bearing looks like it has welded itself onto the drive shaft ie. the inner ring of the bearing is stuck on the drive shaft is this resolveable or is it new drive shaft time. suggestions for getting the bearing off? would a hub puller do it? any ideas appreciated... 😔

  14. Hi Oily i think it's crank sensing ok - 290 ish rpm on live adj screen with a green light when cranking... just no flippin fuel
  15. some help please! refitting my k series with jenveys and emerald and it won't start. i am getting spark, the fuel pump primes, fuel at the fuel rail but no fuel comes out of the injectors on cranking.... it cranks over fine just doesn't fire (obviously!). how do i toubleshoot no fuel coming out of the injectors? is this the correct thing to check? connect one end of a voltmeter to the injector plug, earth the other end and i get 12vs... its a new (to me) engine replacing an old 1800 supersport, so the emerald map is new... any suggestions on what to check?
