  1. I'm not sure how accurate this method is, but as my car fits all your criteria, I have 6 visible threads showing. Should put you somewhere close.
  2. I did go through a folding draw bar envy stage, but I've learnt to live without now. Thanks for thinking of me John.
  3. The master cylinder off my 2013 car, which I assume is the the 2007 onwards, has metric pipe fittings. Yours are probably imperial, so would need changing.
  4. Caterham Lifeline plumbed in fire extinguisher. Removed from 2013 car. Complete with all brackets, piping, cables etc. Prefer collection from Cheltenham but could deliver to L7C speed events. 60 pounds sterling
  5. Mine run under the radius arm and in front of the radius arm bracket. I don't think they were long enough to go behind. The brake line is stationary relative to the de Dion assembly so only important to avoid possible fouling with a moving part, ie radius arm or damper. As you have watts linkage you probably have even more clearance under the forward arm.
  6. From memory I think those parts might not have been used. The one end is screwed into the tee piece first, then the other end uses the swivel fitting into the caliper. As mentioned previously the right is the left and vice versa. I don't think this kit was designed for this specific application, hence the redundant parts and incorrect labelling. I hope I've remembered that correctly.
  7. I used Caterham parts 77201L, 77201R. Straightforward changeover. Too slow!
  8. The sigma spark plugs have a small taper to seal them, rather than a crush washer. Torque is 15 Nm. I use the FoMoCo AYFS22CB plugs in my 140 and they run perfectly with no carbon build up. I think a check of the mixture would be more helpful than changing the heat range.
  9. The regs. say that for road classes we are required to supply a copy of the DVLA form showing the car is taxed. Does that mean the confirmation email we get when taxing online or is there some other form.
  10. The regs. say we need a national A licence for this event. Has this changed from last year?
  11. There is obvious confusion over these weight limits. It is important to realise that with vehicles/ trailers used on the road all limitations, whether it it your ability to tow with your licence or driving an HGV over a weak bridge, use the gross weight. That means it's manufacturer designed maximum weight, not how much it weighs in your particular case. If you have a trailer which is allowed to carry a load of 1000 kgs and the trailer weighs 400 kgs then the gross weight is 1400 kgs. This will be marked on the trailer. You can't use it with a 600 kg Caterham and think its only 1000 kgs, its still 1400 kgs gross. That's the way things are. In the above case, using a B licence with a max gross of 3500 kgs, you are allowed to tow 3500 - 2440 = 1060kgs. More than this and you'll need a B+E category.
  12. I think the wire has to be connected via the wing fixing bolt when the wings are attached as JK #1. It does not affect the running of the car as the pump etc are earthed through the loom, but rather an IVA requirement as this snippet from manual . "All metal fuel tanks must have an earth path to prevent the build up of static electricity. (this may be a separate bonding or the mounting arrangement where it does not isolate the tank)"
  13. If you look on Uphill Racers forum, Paul W has organised a test day on Friday 20 February and is looking for participants.
  14. From the iva manual. 1. The vehicle must be fitted with wheel guards 2. The wheel guard must extend at least 30 degrees from the centre of the wheel to the front (figure 1) 3. The wheel guard must extend at least 50 degrees from the centre of the wheel to the rear (figure 1) 4. The wheel guard must cover the full breadth of the tyre throughout the required dimensions (see note 2 & figure 1) 5. The rear of the wheel guard must not terminate above a horizontal plane of 150mm above the wheel centre. (see note1 & figure 1)
  15. Well done Paul, it was a great event last year and I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't been before.
  16. Caterham sell lens only b7049g £22.20
  17. Check that the three engine loom to chassis loom plugs are connected correctly and make sure the coil plug at the rear of the engine is pushed fully home. Also check the group of earths from engine that bolt to bulkhead.
  18. If you pause the video at 1.01 it definitely looks like 3 rows of Armco's finest. Should concentrate the mind!
  19. Steve, I made mine in one piece but did 3 pours to achieve this. I put a small square of polystyrene inside the bag under my butt to achieve the right height and then as I poured the back I gently rested back against the expanding foam while holding the steering wheel as a bit of support. As Richard says, remove the tunnel top and I also taped some card over the seat belt fixing holes to prevent the foam expanding and locking the seat in place.
  20. I used a survival bag from Go Outdoors, very big and very strong and just over 2 quid. I think you'll need the 5kg pack to be on the safe side, you'll kick yourself if you have to order another pack half way through the process.
  21. You can avoid draining gearbox if you use a plastic plug which you put in as soon as the prop comes free. Definitely remove engine mounts and I also remove belt tensioner which makes life easier.
  22. This hasn't changed from last year other than the service schedule has been added. Section K are general rules, you then read the relevant section, in our case S, which shows extinguisher as recommended only 10.1.14
  23. Mark, I've got an orange and a red arb with rubbers which you're welcome to experiment with. You will need to put your own brackets on though, not a big job.
