  1. How do you like to position your pedals relative to each other, are brake and clutch at the same level etc , do you like the throttle level as well, my pedals are in the rearmost setting and i am trying to get a better set up. just interested in others preferences. understand everyone is going to like differing set ups.
  2. would also be interested in any figures. Roger, in the past i have just set up to have front lower wishbones parallel to the floor and the added 15mm of rake to the car with the rear higher,. with me in the car. i have used some setting for approximate corner weight set up given by Simon Rogers, not sure if these are still on his website. all very vague, i'm sorry, hopefully someone can help.
  3. Thanks for the replies, have decided to site the filter housing under the throttle bodies where the battery used to be. the unions will exit the sandwich at the side as this seems a better route for the pipes. Paul, i have a male female threaded boss in the kit, which has a 3/8" unf thread, is this what you referred to in a previous thread. I don't see how this can be used in my application i have a male outlet pipe on the oil pump filter housing and i have a female thread in the sandwich cap that does seem to correspond with the thread on the pipe.
  4. Has anyone any pics of the sandwich plate showing direction of the outlets, i am thinking of coming out towards the side of the car rather than having them forward facing near the belts. ideas on siting of the oil filter housing would also be good.
  5. thanks, i was a bit unsure with the lower capacity and if it would reach everything it neads to at the tail of the box. 7 wonders your answer is as it was suggested to me.
  6. how much oil do you have in your gearbox ?, have filled gearbox with oil, out of the car, with the top plate off. I was told by SP to fill only untill i can only just feel with little finger throught filler/drain plug on side. SP said that it is not good to overfill as the box runs hotter. filling like this equates to 1.3L which is similar to suggestions in the archives. interested if anyone has any other info.
  7. Just had a quick look at mine and think they are 1/4" UNF and that I use a 3/8 socket, should have really tried socket on nut to confirm.
  8. My reference was to the rubberised mounts rather than the brackets
  9. Fitting the vibratechnics mounts to my car and whilst speaking to them it was suggested that early engine mounts were jag parts, cc then had them remanufactured differently. This may be where there is a difference in size.
  10. also done it, well recomended.
  11. 2m will do me gary, its for a extra silencer across the rear of the car. thanks
  12. have my engine out and pump off, bugger had not budgeted for this, now paranoid
  13. Thanks sandboy have sent PM with my email for pic.
  14. Standard roll bar please, can you send me a pic, would need to get it to Loughborough, thanks
  15. I'll have some Gary, will check sizes I need.
  16. thanks again Richard, gives me good starting points.
  17. is the shell for the bias bar just welded on off centre or did you have to bend the top of the pedal? does the welding of the shell, to pedal, distort at all, and did it need reaming after welding?
  18. perfect Richard many thanks, just what i was looking for. I have a cable clutch. do you have same size m/c's or smaller for front? is the black wire on the m/c banjo for a pressure switch? do we need one on both front and rear lines?
  19. I thought a solution could be an angled top part of the pedal to give room, so farther away from the clutch pedal, this is already angled over to the left, and nearer to the throttle pedal. would like to see a pic if anyone has done this.
  20. was thinking about the bolt that went round with my clutch, made a mess, feel a cracked off head could do similar damage, not that my welding is so bad 😬
  21. after speaking to them at autosport they said they may be able to do some discount for a bulkbuy of engine mounts. I know Roger Swift fitted these to his car, and it may be the case that the stud stays in the mount meaning that the engine may need lifting to fit, but i could find out if they coud be supplied as an open thread design, the one i was shown at autosport was like this.here
  22. high tensile bolt so wouldnt want to weld head on in such a critical area.
  23. manged to get four from SBD but they did cost £4 each here Edited by - k.russell on 20 Jan 2013 16:18:32
  24. the bolts go in from inside the bell and are an M12 fine pitch, the gbox would also need material removing around the lugs if a nut could be sourced , something i wouldnt want to do. Edited by - k.russell on 20 Jan 2013 16:09:56

    rear panel

I am a sheet metalworker and a competant ali welder but chose to get arch to put the rear panel on. if you have a vinyl boot cover and painted car you coud get away with putting a few rivets in the joint that is welded as the cover fits over this area. Bruce at Aarch did suggest that it would take me a few attempts to get a back panel on with a good finish.
