  1. thanks marius enjoyed your site, good photos, can remember seeing and liking your immaculate car at curborough earlier in year. good photo of your oil pump, and tank. seems you use spd system, which pump is it, im still as they advertise pumps, c type, that fit on brackets, and also front cover mounted pumps. has anyone any experience of bracket type pump. kev.
  2. julian i fabricated apair of seat brackets that mount on top of the box section in front of the seats and to the brackets behind the seats(on rear bulkhead). these where both ali 25mm x 25mm angle 3mm thk, these were bolted in using existing seat mounting bolt holes. i had already put holes in floor for my tillets(my chassis is 1992 so had no u channel things) i then placed over the centre of these holes(in floor) two more angles, running front back, between the other angles and welded to form a sort of "H" section. my seats now sit on top of these frames and my already sagging floor pulled up nicely when i bolted in the seats,(i do have adj. runners both sides). did not weigh these ali brackets, i was more worried about backside, road coming together. kev.
  3. stevefoster thanks for advice so far, just some 🤔,lookes like you still have oil filter mounted in original place, and scav pump is above it, is this pump mounted via front plate or on brackets, also understand it is quite a job fitting front pulley. qed fairly local to me so can speak to them regarding sump etc. notice you have v large tank, can it be done with anything smaller, would like to keep passenger footwell. kev russell.

    vx dry sump

thinking of fitting a dry sump system to my hpc 2ltr vx, have been looking at past threads on subject, and had a look at sbd kit on there site i would welcome any advice, info, on fitting, and parts, is it a diy job, my car is factory standard on 45's. might also consider fitting stronger rod bolts whilst engine out sump off, advice welcome kev russell.
  6. nigel if your silencer is standard caterham it will be a fully welded system, that is, the perforated centre pipe is welded at both ends, this would need quite a lot of fabrication to make a tidy finished job. i recently cut open my jpe silencer to find the centre pipe had fractured completely in two halves, but because the silencer was fully welded there were no outwards indications of this . kevin russell
  7. i polished my jpe system at work using mops and cutting wax, not a very fun job, suggest you take to a pro polisher as suggested above, after polishing when you wash car try alloy wheel cleaner, mousse, but wash off after short while as it is an acid solution. my exhaust is still as polished as 5000 miles ago.
  8. i have used alloy wheel cleaning fluid, mousse,on my polished exhaust, apply when washing car but remove after a short while because it is quite acidic.
  9. I am fitting a braided feul line(from vx race car) to my 1992 hpc, have found the plastic pump fitted to be cracked(oe caterham), so i am looking to replace pump i would appreiciate any advice regards, pump type, flow rate, pressure etc. car is running 45's and feul line has no facility for a pressure regulator.
