    Rover converts

Just a guess from a Xflow owner, retro-reliability, flames & backfires. Or it could be to stop people asking “is that engine from a Metro”. I know the Xflow the K series has been done but not the reverse. Olly (keeping my head well down)
  2. Thanks Mick @ Redline has got them in stock. Olly
  3. Alex Did you manage to source the ball joint rubbers. CC parts don’t sell them as a separate item from the top link Olly
  4. The performance wheels are made in Australia, type performance superlite into Google & you will get the AU website. Due to some legal complication the UK agent is not allowed to use the words Performance superlite for internet search engines. So go straight to his website at www.performwheels.co.uk (the website is pants). I purchased my caps from them several years ago & they had adverts for superlites in the last couple of fast / classic Ford mags I’ve read. Olly
  5. Merlin managed to match the bezel like for like but not the needle colour. Olly
  6. I now use a VDO electronic speedo that I purchased from Melin Motorsport at Castle Combe, they also supplied the speed probe that reads off the brake disc bolt heads. Easy to fit and easy to calibrate to read true at all speeds. Olly
  7. Hi James The hub puller looks just like this here Link failed type MOGWOG PART S356C in to google Its marked churchill S356c. Its fits over the 4 wheel studs & is then held by fitting the wheel nuts. On the end of the threaded bolt it has a ball bearing that fits into the concave dimple on the end of the half shaft. 8. Ive got the special Churhill tool to remove the hub but you still need a bit heat before it will let go. The following posting from the Marina/Ital owners club might be of interest to you. I have not tried it myself so dont know if it works. Olly
  9. After fitting one of Brents 5 speed brackets & a gearbox with a long input shaft & spacer block. I also kept the 4 speed remote lever in its original position after re-drilling the connecting links. Dont forget to remove the reverse gear stop from the 5 speed if you intend to use remote linkage. Olly
  10. I had the same problem when I was fitting mine. I was told by a fellow xflow owner that not enough of the guide stands proud to anchor the stem seal in the normal manner (Ford used umbrella seals in the production engines) & not to worry if it moved up the valve stem away from the guide. Fitting mine instantly cured the puff of blue smoke on start up & have now been fitted a couple a years. Olly The little springs holding your old set on might mean you had a set from "A" series Mini engine fitted, this is a well ducumented modification when double valve springs fitted. 11. My 5 speed xflow clutch cable has adjusting nuts at both ends. it was supplied by Redline a couple of months ago the part number was. 72610 clutch cable (RHD) <94-ROV & VAUX + LIVE AXLE 95>. Olly
  12. Bob Do you know how many clicks you have your GAZ shocks set at. Olly
  13. as purchased last year fom Caterham Valeo 14v 45a 292 20 70 / 9AR2 707G Cost £95 Olly
  14. Ooh that was very close to the belt. I don’t think you realise how much the disclosure of your secret identity has affected me. Its not every club meeting you get to meet a super hero. Johnny If you want to blend into the background & keep your identity secret get one of THESE Olly
  15. I dont have the items you are asking for in this post. But did I hear you say you also wanted one of these. here Olly
  16. Yes please Chris, are you going to the next meet at Lulworth in June by any chance. Olly
  17. Phil Thats what I thought. I would have thought that if buying to upgrade from the non electronic version they are going to need every thing including the harness & amplifier box. I am led to believe the problematic rotor arm is no longer available new, this might be the only thing that limits your sale potential as a whole working unit with 35,000 miles under its belt. Olly
  18. Hi Phil I don’t fully understand your posting. Are you talking about selling it whole or as individual component parts. I ask because I’m looking for one of the famous rotor arms complete with chopper plate as fitted as to Supersprints. Olly
  19. John If I tell you what I use will you promise not to out bid me every time I try & make a purchase from ebay. (I use the ones from an "A" series Metro engine) Olly
  20. Hi Phil I have 13 inch wheels and the cycle wing measures just short of 31 inches tip to tip around the outer circumference of the wing. Olly
