  1. As Griff says it's probable if youv'e left battery that long hat it's fecked Check voltage across terminals when cranking as voltage drops so current requirement for starter increases also too low a voltage and ECU won't play ball
  2. You shouldn't have had to adjust Tick over the IACV should handle that and therein may lie your problem If your trying to open the throttle when cranking the TPS is adjusting the map away from starting settings The IACV [ECU control] should automatically adjust the Air into the engine and the ECU the fuelling and sparking Any intervention by a humble human can and will cause difficulties . Adjusting the idle repositions the TPS and is NOT recommended.
  3. I know nothing about this unit BUT the two sets of wires Blue and White need to be placed into the two ccts your isolating treat them like switches when unit is armed they will be open when disarmed Closed. Thats the most common way these units work.
  4. Have you carefully checked the wiring on the BMS I refer to the Resistor wiring for the Alternator NOT the main Cables Just an idea because it is a very uncommon fault
  5. It's NOT as simple as folk think I've fitted the relay Mod fed direct from Ign Sw controlling a 30amp relay and using 40amp cable from battery to solenoid it works unless you stall in heavy traffic when under hood temps are very high then Starter just groans and barely turns over I'll get to bottom of it eventually ☹️
  6. note my response on the IVA Fail thread
  7. edited to prevent confusion I should have said a loose earth can cause arcing and blow a fuse [From experience] Edited by - The Outcast on 12 Mar 2010 22:57:18
  8. I changed from 48s to 888s two years ago and prefer them I have a feeling but can't prove it that they are marginally better in the Wet
  9. If your having to crank for along time the VD will be too much for the ECU so the electronics won't work It worked in old days with a simple coil and a set of points especially if it was Ballast resisted BUT these new fangled computer controlled cars don't like VD at all Be also aware that if your garage is cold your battery voltage will be lower [Thread earlier in week]
  10. There are far too many Guys playing with their Nuts on this thread 😬
  11. Temperature Effects on Batteries Battery capacity (how many amp-hours it can hold) is reduced as temperature goes down, and increased as temperature goes up. This is why your car battery dies on a cold winter morning, even though it worked fine the previous afternoon. If your batteries spend part of the year shivering in the cold, the reduced capacity has to be taken into account when sizing the system batteries. The standard rating for batteries is at room temperature - 25 degrees C (about 77 F). At approximately -22 degrees F (-27 C), battery AH capacity drops to 50%. At freezing, capacity is reduced by 20%. Capacity is increased at higher temperatures - at 122 degrees F, battery capacity would be about 12% higher.
  12. There's a good chance only the Nut is fecked Cut it off with a hacksaw and get a new one from the factory. Big ? did you remember to reverse the Torque wrench As that's what might have stripped it.

    Oil surge?

I suggest you modify the sump gasket as recommended by DVA here
  14. Another one for TDC timing couldn't be easier

    Oil surge?

Sounds like you've covered all the bases. If it's only just started happening as you've said then it looks as if [everything considered] you may be heading for premature bearing failure Personally I'd never track a Car without a Dry sump BUT that's a hobbyhorse of mine as until I'd fitted mine I went through bearings like confetti.
  16. SM25T is right they will bed in if you take it easy for a bit Yes it is GOOD practice to always fit new pads with new rotors But at the cost of Pads nowadays you can't just throw them away, Provided they are reasonably flat they will do the job.

    Oil surge?

    Road use or Track?

    Oil surge?

Check your oil level with engine running it will be low
  19. I think you'll find in law that warranty resides at the site of the vendor so Caterham are NOT responsible for shipping either way. It's the same with all goods IMHO of course 😬
