  1. As I have the engine out at the moment, I thought I would clean & re-grease the solenoid. I did not make a note of the connections 😳, therefore can anyone confirm that the thick red wire to the battery connects the the solenoid terminal maked 50. Thank you Regards John

  8. I need to replace my cams seals, as a result I will replace the cam belt as It may be contaminated with oil. Is there any differeence between the cam belt for an engine with a manual or automatic tensioner 🤔 Thank you Regards John

  10. My CRB needs replacing again. ☹️ I have now done over 30,000 miles, so I will replace the clutch at the same time. With this in mind, I will need to decide which clutch to use. My engine output is around 195BHP, therefore would it be a good idea to replace it with the Caterham uprated version, or will the standard clutch be ok? I look forward to the replies. Regards John

  17. Hi all My Mitutoyo digimatic indicator battery has expired and I need it to re-time my cams. The instructions sate that I need an SR44 battery, but my my local shop only stocks LR44 batteries. They look the same to me. Is this a correct assumption 🤔 Thank you Regards John

    Hi Steve I would get the Emerald mapped on a rolling road. I would also change the exhaust if you have the Caterham standard system. As Oily has suggested, the cams will need to timed to suit your set-up Regards John Regards
  20. Over pressurizing of the system may be caused by a cylinder liner that has dropped below the recommended 4 thou, which is what happen to my K-Series. No obvious signs of head gasket failure, but because No 4 liner had dropped the action of the piston was forcing air into the cooling system, thus blowing coolant out at the top of the expansion tank.
