  1. Can anyone advise where Caterham fit this as I would like to fit mine in the same position. Many thanks
  2. Hi all Having spent the whole my working life in the construction industry I am contemplating early retirement. I am currently working as a Freelance Quantity Surveyor specializing in Groundworks estimating and contract valuations. The wife & I plan to live off our savings and some rental income. I am only 56 years old, but I have I had just about enough of the construction industry. I would like to hear the thoughts of members who have retired early and what they actually do with all their free time. Many thanks John
  3. Hi Jonathan I do have some nylon bolts here somewhere. I bought them years ago, but I never got around to fitting them. John
  4. Hi all Collected my replacement rear wings from TSK earlier today. They have drilled the holes for the rear lights, but the fixing holes still need to to be drilled. Furthermore, the the flanges will need to cut to fit arround the suspension. I plan to make a template from the old wings to locate the fixing holes and cutouts around the suspension. Does anyone have any tips to help me when fixing the new wings. Many thanks John
  5. Hi all I have two rear wings at TSK for painting, can anyone collect and deliver to Cornwall? Many thanks John
  6. Hi Roger Thank you for your reply. As you stated the new metric wings do not have the cut out for the exhaust. They will also need drilling and cut outs will need to made before they will fit around the suspension arms. It would appear that the wing will need to be removed when taking off my exhaust. Regards John
  7. Hi all Does anyone know if the old imperial wings are still available anyware? It would appear that Caterham only supply the new metric wings which will require a bit of fettling to get them to fit. Many thanks John
  8. No problem Been out for a blat to day. Gaffer tape to hold the wing together!
  9. Yep, new wing required. Will try Redline and Tony at Caterham on Monday.
  10. Hi I have just rung the stores number on the web site and I get an answer service.
  11. Hi Nick Yes it was a independent garage in Helston. The mechanic who's near retirement age was in tears when I collected the car. On the funny side, he actually hit is own car in the car park! By the way, I am from Falmouth, but I have lived in Helston for the past 10 Years. I have rung Caterham twice now a left messages on their answer service about the replacement parts, but they have not rung back! Business must be really good!!!!!! All the best. John
  12. Thanks for the replies. No luck with Caterham today, left a message on their answer service, but didn't get a reply. Hopefully, they will ring tomorrow.
  13. Hi all A bit of bad news today, the mechanic carrying out a service on my 7 today managed to hit the rear wing and It will need replacing. The car is a 1999 K-Series and the paint colour is Dodge Viper Blue. I have a few questions which I hope the power of Blat Chat can help me with. Will Caterham be able to provide me with the paint code and can the paint be matched with the existing as it is 15 years old? I will also need to paint the other wing so it will match the new one. Would it be better to replace both wings and wing protectors? I have noticed on the Caterham Web Site that the replacement wings are painted, as my car is blue I would assume that the black would be the best ones to buy. I look forward to reading your thoughts. Many thanks

  20. Hi all Thanks for all the replies. 6th digit a K & 10 digit a X, therefore I will need a cat for my MOT. Thanks once again Regards John
  21. Hi all Can anyone please confirm that I require a CAT for the MOT test. My seven was registered in November 1999 and was built from a kit. The car was fitted with a Cat when it went for its SVA test. I am in the proess of purchasing a VHPD cat, but obvously it is a big expense if I do not require it for my MOT. Many thanks Regards John
  22. Hi 7 Wonders I built my Seven as a kit and it was registered in November 1999. From what I understand if it was built before August 1999 it would only reqire a visual smoke test. The Seven had a cat fitted when it passed the SVA test. I only require the cat for the MOT test as my friendly tester has left his wife and moved away. Simon I live in Helston Cornwall, but I would be quite happy to arrage collection if your cat is for sale. Regards Johnn
