  1. The springs have bee fitted. 80mm ground level to sump on 14" 185/60. The springs are slighty loose, but not enough to come free from the seat. The car has been transformed!
  2. Thanks for the info. I have not lost any indicated oil pressure after fitting the apollo tank. I have sent Think Auotomtive an e-mail requesting more information & prices.
  3. Anyone fitted one to a K-Series with anti cavitation tank? How effective are they? Is it a easy job to fit? Thank you
  4. Thank you FH. blush.gif
  5. Many thanks for the replies. Peter do DT supply the joiner pieces? Can you tell me what IME stands for? As you can see I am a technical ludite, though I did build my Seven. I will probably try the springs & see what ride height I get. Thank you
  6. I use a syringe with a bit of plastic tube fitted to it. Much easier, just squirt it in. The oil will start to run out when its full.
  7. I am upgrading to wide track front suspension with 250lb springs on adjustable platforms. I have searched the archives & helper springs from DT are recommended. Can anyone advise how they fit & work. Is there a size & poundage I need to specify? Thank you
  8. ECR, He is thinking about aero`s as wellteeth.gif
  9. Gary, are you going for 200BHPteeth.gif Fancy a blat on Thursdayquestion.gif May see you tomorrow.
  10. I cut mine off with a hacksaw blush.gif. The studs are to long. You can shorten them with the manifold off. Depends if you want to use the old system again. The water rail will need to be removed & a long socket is required because of the studs. You will not regret putting the race system on. It pulls better & revs freely right up to the change up light teeth.gif Good luck. Edited by - Tin Man on 20 Apr 2002 16:16:10
  11. Gary, I have put all your footage on to a VHS tape. It has come out quite well. May see you tomorrow. I will bring the tape with me. Thanks for all the replies. I will probably try the 13" 185/60 profiles & see how it goes. Now the best place to buy the wheelsteeth.gif
  12. 13" wheels with 185/60 profile tyres will give me 125MPH at 7600RPM! would it be better to go for 70 proflie tyres? At some point in the future I would like to get the diff converted to a LSD would it be better then to change it to a 3.62 diff at the same time. Any ideas on cost & the best place to get it done? Thank you

Pierre, I can e-mail you some instructions & digital pictures if you would like them.
  14. JP, I can e-mail the pictures if you require them. All the best
  15. Kiwi, £699.13 with the std 6" can & £25.00 for the guard. I fitted it myself with some good advice from Tony Martyr. I have a 1.8 k s/s 6 speed & the engine seems to pull & rev a lot better. I see the red change up light a lot more often now teeth.gif
  16. I have just changed mine to the 4:2:1 SLR system with no cat. I went with the std 6" & the noise does not seem to be a problem. If you go for the 6" you will need to order a guard which is another £25.00!!
  17. Len, I have the std 5" cat exhaust but no manifold. It`s done 7,000 miles. I have just changed it for a 4:2:1. I am from Cornwall so transport may be a problem. Send me an e-mail if you are interested. All the best

    lambda probe

I have just fitted a 4:2:1 race exhaust to my 1.8 s/s k-series with no cat. Do I need to fit the lambda probe, or can I just fit the blanking plug. Will it make any difference without the cat? Thank you
  20. Steve, I used superglue to stop a rivinut turning.
  21. Hi FH Yep smile.gif Thought I should make a bit more noise down here teeth.gif It will be a lot cheaper than my 39th birthday present smile.gif I hope you & Mr FH are keeping well. Thank`s for the info Tony. What tools did you use to cut out the hole question.gif
  22. Does anyone know where I can acquire a template, as Caterham do not supply it with the exhaust system. Thank you Edited by - Tin Man on 6 Nov 2001 21:46:31

    Car Covers

Jason , I bought a size 3 400 x 160 CM. A de-humidifier will only work if you have heating in the garage, as the air gets to cold in the winter.
  24. Any advice on how to fit it. What`s the best way to cut the hole in the side skin? Can I get a template? what`s the best way to remove the old manifold as I had to fit it before installing the engine. Thank you
