  1. GN11 ..., ally, green nosecone with yellow stripe wings. Spotted by my wife who works there. She is interested to know if it belongs to a co worker?
  2. I have an LED light from CBS here, mounted across the X of the roll bar using a couple of p-clips. Looks great IMO and keeps the space just under the roll bar clear which I like to look through with the RVM. My 2011 SV came with spade connectors down at the rear right corner to connect it. No need to spend money on a sub-loom if you have those .
  3. Yes, using the bleed screws. I followed this method.
  4. Adam, this will be the first track day for me and my Dad in my Roadsport SV 150. although we are both familiar with track. After spectating at the event last year and taking a passenger ride, I feel pretty comfortable with the Caterham session where at least everyone is driving the same kind of car and tends to have a similar mindset. Lap times around Oulton park are around 2 minutes, so even with 30 cars on track that is only one car every 4 seconds on average.
  5. James Gibson of CC has offered me the all ally upgrade for a reasonable price. Once again I am a happy customer

    Rear wheel size

Has anyone thought about making a pair or narrower rear wings that might improve the look of the 6" wheels?
  7. Caterham replaced my plastic tanked Sigma radiator under the 12 month kit parts warranty when it sprung a leak. Now the replacement has sprung a leak 8 months and <2000 miles later, 7 months after the kit warranty expired. Because the radiator is less than 12 months old, is it still covered by it's own warranty and Caterham obliged to replace it? Jim
  8. I'll also take the Cat Bypass please.
  9. I'll take the Adjustable Platforms please.
  10. My 2011 150 SV has this problem. The fuel gauge is on empty after 150 miles. I just fill up every 200 miles but even then I struggle to squeeze in 30 litres. Owners handbook says the tank capacity is 41l. I'll probably never bother to sort it unless somebody has a simple solution?
  11. Sounds good and they have updated their ebay page with decent photos within 24hrs of asking. Looks like I may be able to avoid SBFS after all
  12. Remove the TBs and fit a plenum - sacrilege! I love the engine, partly because it is a little rough around the edges. Balancing the TBs seems to have cured the lift-off shunt and with 2K on the odo and I seem to have got used to the sensitive throttle at low speeds.
  13. I'm sure SBFS make a good one but I'd prefer to avoid them after some recent poor service. It's for an SV with FIA X Roll Bar. I've heard Oxted Trimming do one that used to be decent but now it's been cost reduced. I can't find any details or pictures on their website. I suspect this is them on ebay. In which case I'm put off by the lame photograph.
  14. Balancing the Thottle Bodies has yielded a major improvement. So far I've just used the robber hose in the ear method here but I have also ordered a Synchrometer from here. Turned out I'd mixed up the idle and balance screw. Trial and error showed that the idle screw is nearest the head. I think the spring on the balance screw is inadequate and it has been moving of it's own accord. It was easily adjustable with fingers and I'd been regularly tweeking it to correct the idle. Hopefully some low strength loctite will solve that problem. Edited by - RedCat7 on 3 Jul 2012 22:23:09
  15. I'll take them please. I will BM you tomorrow. Cheers Jim
  16. Ist dibs on the spring platforms please.
  17. Thanks for the responses. Are IACVs fitted to engines running on Throttle Bodies? I can't imagine they are but I could be wrong (I'm not near the car to look). How would I detect a leak between the TBs and head (I don't think there is an inlet manifold)?
  18. It's not engine breaking. WhenI close the throttle quickly, half way through doing so the car briefly shunts forward, as though I have tapped the throttle open again.
  19. The were out of stock when my rad went a few months ago but it only took a week or so for my like for like warranty replacement. I suggest you call ask to speak to James Gibson at Caterham Dartford if your's is still under warranty.
  20. The engine was setup at Caterham Midland last summer as part of the PBC and I've done 1400 miles since. Generally is it well behaved and I love the noise and rev hunger. After reading a few threads on BC, I sceptically drilled some holes in the oil catch tank cap but this certainly strengthened the engine. Apart from that I've done nothing to it. (1) I drove a friends VVC and one of the differences that stood out was that his throttle had a lot shorter travel which I liked - felt like squeezing the pedal rather than pushing it. However my sigma is a little jerky at low speeds so I woudn't want to just change the pedal leverage. Has any one found a way of reducing the pedal travel and making the throttle progressive? I read that this had been done on CSRs here. (2) When using full throttle, if a lift off the engine snorts and shunts the car foward. I'm getting used to that on the road but I've not been track yet or had an emergency lift. I'm worried that on the limit this could be a catastrophic characteristic. Cheers Jim

    my 1st 7 build

Expect parts shortages/errors. The Assembly Guide looks nice but often make no sense, it's not just you being dumb. Sill protectors - mark them up on the car then remove for drilling, rather than the AG method of using the hole in the inner skin as a drill bush. Edited by - RedCat7 on 2 Apr 2012 21:07:45
