  1. Be carefull with the ones on eBay, I wanted a 4way plug and a bit of lead to connect a hands free kit to a phone so thought a 4-way to 4-way 3.5mm jack would be just the ticket but found that only three of the connections were made I ended up using a 4-way 3.5 to USB so I knew all 4 wires would be there and then hacked off the USB bit! Ivan
  2. Scoops, not sure if you have a Sigma or not but the Sigma sender has a different connector so may have a different callibration to that one - not sure, just a thought Ivan
  3. Hi Andy, Just been out to the garage and checked, my light (Sterling imobiliser) goes off too. I also hear the click of a relay or two along with the fuel pump priming (could be a fuel pump relay, cant remember!! ). I would check that you have all the relays plugged in ok although you have probably already done this. Hope you get it sorted soon Ivan
  4. Hi, I had not long popped into that gap when you appeared, not to worry I soon dispatched the wide one as well and went on to have a great little run out. Lovely day for it wasn't it Ivan
  5. Something in the back of my mind tells me it was to do with the electronic ignition option so may go to the connector under the dash. Been a looong time since I've had my X-flow though! Ivan
  6. Hi Ian, I have a feeling it may have been me! I had been starting to do that but the LEDs weren't bright enough and I in the process of the re-design the idea got shelved. Funnily enough, about two days ago the idea got going again when I found some 12V 2.6W (30W equiv.) LED arrays that could be just dropped into the cut down housing and used as is, and without the need for a new PCB etc. These new arrays are only about £8 each so I have ordered two and will let you know how I get on. Ivan
  7. Hi, I had been wondering about this (Duratec) as a possible route for more power in the future (got the Sigma 150). Does anyone know if it can use the same exhaust primaries/hole in side of car? Cheers Ivan
  8. Don't do it jeffi!!! The spade with two wire in it goes a) to the fan b) to the ECU. The ECU drives the fan relay as well so connecting it to ground (to turn on the fan) would short out the output of the ECU and could dammage it (£500+). I seem to recal reading it somewhere as well but can't think where.... Regards Ivan
  9. Really? How bizarre! Now that's a handy fact to remember!! - thanks Arnie
  10. Very similar from what I recal, maybe not quite as much though. I managed to replace mine with the diff in-situ but it was a bit of a bu99er, ended up making a (very) crude puller to yank the old one out. Ivan
  11. From the looks of those pics it looks like the driveshaft seal is weeping a bit. These seems to be a drop of oil around one of the teeth things (IYSWIM). Had to replace one of mine a year or so ago. Ivan

Not sure what RPM it happens at but I get a resonance from the wiper drive mechanism, I have shoved a bit of foam up under the dash between the drive and bulkhead (in center of dash) which has reduced it somewhat. Ivan
  13. Could also try turning the ignition on and off four or five times fairly quickly to reset the throttle pot. Do this with your foot off the throttle Ivan
  14. Maybe there is a core plug behind the flywheel that's weeping, I remember that happening on my old Xflow. I've had a look through the pictures of my sigma engine during the build but can't find one that shows that view. Perhaps a quick call to CC to see if there is a plug there would help but unfortunately, if none of the coolant pipes above the bellhousing are leaking it sounds like an egine out job to investigate ☹️ Regards Ivan
  15. I went straight for the Radtec option when my CC rad died (Sigma 150) and have been very pleased with it's build quality and performance. Ivan
  16. Great news - looks like a simple yet good piece of kit. Ivan
  17. I would have thought that it would be play/mis-alignment in the linkage, any play with the side to side movement of the linkage could mean the gearstick on the box is not quite in the right place when you select 3rd or 1st. Is there any problem with getting 5th from 4th?

If it's a newer car and the ECU is the CC issue one it may be security protected to stop it being tweeked. I know that's true of the Sigma cars but not sure how far up the range it goes. Ivan
  19. I think they are the same rads, our rads bolt directly onto the chassis mounts and the SV uses two ali plates that bridge the gap between the chassis mounts and rad fixings. Ivan
  20. I didn't think about that at the time I ordered so have had to just run the small cylider head pipe straight into the expantion bottle (same as the R400 build manual) and it seems to be fine. As you say, I think it a air bleed for the rad. As the new rad has a bleed and drain plug I didn't worry. Ivan
  21. Just fitted one of the Radtec rads this weekend after my CC one started leaking. Certainly looks very well made and it made one hell of a difference to the cooling too. Before when stationary, the fan would never be able to cool the engine enough to switch itself back off, now it is on for 30sec then off for 2min. They get a from me. Ivan
  22. Thanks guys, some good ideas, I'll have to give them a go I always find the way the mist and dew on these cold mornings just keeps coming back on until the window had heated up a bit and I find I'm using the wipers for a mile or so down the road. I imagine that it's good for rain but the beading up of mist and drizzle etc very distracting. This is on my new tintop and, I guess, put there by the dealers as part of the valet it gets. Cheers Ivan
  23. Anyone got any ideas how to remove this god awfull stuff from your windows? Thanks in advance Ivan
  24. I think they are quite comparable. I've got a Sigma 150 and get 35-37mpg general driving, got in the 40s on a sedate m-way run once but that was on an old ECU map so don't know if it would still be the same now. Ivan
  25. That is bad news, I hope she makes a quick and full recovery. Best Wishes Ivan
