  1. we were not practising - we were testing the new engine and suspension combo. Not sure when we'll test the new engine, suspension and tyres combo - hopefully before the first practise run at Epynt
  2. Lynn - thanks for letting that Cat out of the bag 😬 Edited by - Gill E on 8 Jun 2011 11:42:38
  3. Ray - I'll leave you to answer your own question. All I'll say is Blue belt syllabus - Indian death lock ❗
  4. Shaun - please will you use yor own sign-on to post here - you're destroying my finely honed reputation as a air-head.
  5. 189.9bhp and lots of lovely torque. Do you think a 1900 bottom end works well with a VHPD head? 😬 I'm sure it would but luckily for the rest of you we haven't tried it .
  6. Based on limited evidence I think they might work - Shaun had the only decent drive in our car before the engine came to a grinding halt at Llandow -at Goodwood he beat his PB and got 2nd in Class. I think we may have to wait until the end of the season to see if they really work as apparently we bought the Class 5 version and we are now in Class 4! (something to do with aerodynamics and bhp ) 😬
  7. JEM - did he tell you that the carbon fibre indicator pods "will make you go faster" too? Or is Shaun spinning me a line? 😬
  8. 3 billies now fitted. Just waiting for the parts to arrive from Caterham to do no. 4 then we just need to deal with the tyres. Rolling road on Friday so fingers crossed! Edited by - Gill E on 30 May 2011 19:59:59
  9. Another step closer - rolling road session booked And tonight I am to learn a new skill to go alongside 'how to take an engine out of a Caterham' - 'how to make something look like something it isn't', oopps sorry 'how to remove adjustable dampers and fit non-adjustable dampers'
  10. OK Lynn - the C4 boys can adjust them for Shaun and you can adjust them for me
  11. 14th is OK for me too.
  12. I'm interested too - obviously subject to date and car Gill
  13. Hi Ian, Thanks for the offer but we are sorted now thank you. Shaun

    Gurston entry list

For those of you who hadn't guessed, Shaun and I won't be competing - we may well come down to spectate - so if there are a couple of spare tickets floating around, we'd be happy to put them to good use. Gill

Jeff - you've only got yourself to blame .....! If only you'd thought this whole thing through you'd have realised that those going into Class 4 ................
  16. Mark - I have to apologise for my husband being such a cheeky git
  17. Chris - might be! Lynn -
  18. .... a girl-free zone ☹️
  19. All sorted - 2 more for Class 5.
  20. On second thoughts, I've just seen the Class 5 entry list .......
  21. don't rub it in. A working car is but a distant memory - currently we have: - no engine - no exhaust - no method of steering the car. But apart from that, everything is going splendidly - we have a brand new, freshly painted bonnet and scuttle, and some other shiny new 'things'! And I am VERY familiar with the route around the M25 to Kent!
  22. Well, I've completed the Fun Run and beaten my expectations in 3 ways: - I ran 3.5 of the 4 km course (way more than I'd managed in training and more than I've ever run in my life) - I did it in a time of between 18 and 19 mminutes (I was hoping I could do it in 30mins) - I raised £400 (with Gift Aid, that over £500). A million thank yous to everyone who sponsored me. Shaun will be posting some pictures and a video as proof Happy Christmas all. Gill The little running Santa.
  23. I wondered why Shaun has started talking about video-ing my efforts - thanks for that Mark My training was progressing slowly but surely until today - running in the snow is NOT fun and is hard work. Even though i did not go as far as I'd hoped, I did atleast go out. I now have an idea of what it will probably be like on Sunday. A very big THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored me - you have all been so generous and I am truly overwhelmed by your support. Gill The little running Santa
