  1. Stuart - I can see you've fallen for Shaun's publicity literature! The reality of it is: we have seats, pedals and a steering wheel we have an engine bolted into the engine bay, a radiator bolted toward the front of the car, there's also a gearbox BUT we have no hoses or horses or cables We are still a long way from the rolling road! So same old story in the Elwell garage! Still, plenty of time ...... Fear not Class 5, the plan will come together, won't it!
  2. I guess the 1 thing I can do is enter the Championship - not that we have a competitive car for any class! Same old same old!
  3. Congratulations Robin and welcome back! Adrian Williams - General Secretary? - are you stealing back my gig? I can let you have all the files back 😬
  4. THE BINDERS HAVE ARRIVED 😬 I am getting them ready to dispatch and next week Sam will contact those people who have placed orders to arrange collection of payment. Once we have received payment, I will send your parcel on its way
  5. a well used saying in our house - can't think why 😬
  6. absolutely NO progress has been made in relocating the engine from the garage floor to the empty engine bay due to flu - that's real flu - striking down both of us ☹️ To give an idea of how serious this has been, virtually no alcohol has been consumed in the past 5 days and a bottle of champagne lasted 2 days
  7. You Guys 😬 I have decided to use my powers only for good - I'll let you decide how that affects you! As for shoes and bags (or anything else, for that matter), everything is sorted - I now have a Club cheque book 😬
  8. Simon - Forgot to say - maybe word has got out that I have a purple belt now!
  9. No Limits - you're right, it must be something to do with the change of manufacturer! Jerry - here's hoping (but I'm not holding my breath!) Malcolm
  10. We have an empty engine bay, an engine sitting on the garage floor waiting to be installed and a box of car bits in the lounge
  11. I shall be going cocktail rather than long (Rogers, I have my eye on you - and not in a good way ). And I shall be wearing THE shoes 🥰 (Rogers, I may even be able to look you straight in the eye, but if they're not high enough I can always practise one of my moves on you - again not in a good way ) 😬
  12. Good effort and thank you Simon - it's just a shame that the start of the season is 6 months away (not that we could compete right now - slight problem of an engineless car AGAIN ).

Crikey there are issues even I can understand This has certainly stimulated some 'lively' debate in our house - I'm not sure I've changed Shaun's mind but he's not changed mine either 😬 Time is running out for you to have your say so you know what you have to do ......
  14. Menu sounds great - good job I've finally bought our tickets! Now I just need to find something to wear 😬

Yes my T1 was an interesting run! The first 23 seconds or so of the run had gone well and I was willing myself to be braver and go faster through the twisty, narrow, dark section when the back of the car tried to overtake the front. I didn't think I had put my foot down that much but backed off a bit anyway to take control back. Then the front wheels seemed to encounter some 'black ice' (which I thought was a bit weird too, given that no-one else had mentioned it and it hadn't been there in practise)! I realised that something had happened at the back of the car, but more urgently that the first hairpin was imminent. I took it steady and managed to get round it safely and just concentrated on getting up the hill to the next hairpin and around it *eek* The journey back down the hill was even slower and more nerve wracking - the steering wheel and the front wheels were not cooperating with each other and half way down I realised that I was steering to the left in order to travel straight on. Thankfully the only damage that was done was to my time ☹️ and Shaun didn't miss a run I have learnt that my reactions and car control are better than I thought they were Edited by - Gill E on 11 Sep 2012 18:08:32

    Harewood...

Shaun - is that you saying "oopps" at the end of that spin 😬 TM - I think you'll find that there were others who had grassier moments than that after Mr E went for his little excursion! Some Class 4 gentlemen, perhaps? Gill

    Class 4 looks interesting!
  19. pushing a spare tyre (black round thing not cuddley waist) round a lap!
  20. Did I read somewhere that "they" are looking for suggestions for activities for the annual Caterham v Westfield challenge? And did I also read that the Comp Sec from each Club is being given the task of defending their Club's honour? OK to start the ideas ball rolling what about doing a version of 'pin the tail on the donkey' but instead of a donkey, it's a car and instead of a tail there's a 3 digit race number to be applied to both sides of the car and the blind fold is a crash helmet with the visor covered over? Has any one got any other ideas?
  21. I hope that this applies to future events and not affect those caps already won but not delivered
