  1. Simple job BUT if it's all working fine leave it alone. you don't have to strip to replace the outer boot if you do it may never be the same again .

  5. Garry, absolutely no need to apologise, I only put my post up to let other R400 members know that the car is 100% set up correctly, allowing them to answer purely on the driving characteristics of the car which I think you will find they will agree is totally different than a standard basic Caterham and does take a few hundred miles to get used to. After a few more drives you will be wondering what all the fuss was about and looking for more power. Remember to keep in touch with your progress.
  6. R4 HUN has only driven the car a few times and it's set up 100% The throttle potentiometer is spot on ecu is also ok all done by me and minister he is use to driving a standard caterham and i feel he only needs to get used to the car, he needs reassuring this is normal till he gets used to the car 🤔 Edited by - Fred on 14 Apr 2004 09:30:16

  8. As R4HUN has purchased my R400 from me, what he is looking for is how did other members found there R400 to drive before they got used to it, R400C has given one good example I have explained it takes time to get used to the R400 at low rpm but once you get used to the car it is a dream What did you find 🤔

    Rear Brake Question

Mav i never fit the rear pipes from caterham as i find them just a bit short and this may be your cause of waring the pads if the pipe is pulling on the caliper causing the outer pad to ware if you dont fit flexy pipes make up a new set of soft coper and just a little bit longer if you have a problem ill send you a set down .

    Battery kaput?

12v, dropping to 6v when turning the key.is normal as you are using the power out of the battery so it will drop this sounds more like a starter problem not battery if you are not able to test this your self take the car to a auto elect it only takes 2 min to test battery and starter if you have the right equipment and knowledge .

  17. I think that is a good point Peter. but like all the other points we mention hear nothing gets done . we have three sections that are a waste. bugs /feedback /sugestion it won't take a lot of work to change them to a topic more favored by the members. 😳 Edited by - Fred on 11 Apr 2004 23:30:10
  18. i think only caterham or arch may have the answer you seek
  19. Myles it was definetly less than £10 from caterham 6 month ago when i got mine
  20. Check the hand brake cable is not touching the wheel.
  21. decide what you want your max to be and set the ones below at 500rpm segments .
  22. do it now it's only a £10 all in, and you have a true reading of water temp NOT switch temp with the switch being above the exhaust pipe.
  23. you get the plugs from caterham with the pipe all the racers use this set up just describe what you want to tony on parts . Martin i understand i take it he means my private web site 🤔
  24. why dont you all do away with the senders in the rail and fit this .here you will find you get a better and more accurate reading as you will not be absorbing the heat from the primaries this is a caterham part and costs about £5.00 you can fit this any where you want in the heater hose or by hose if you dont have a ponce heater Edited by - Fred on 10 Apr 2004 19:51:16
