  1. I believe that you don't need a regulator with these "cube" pumps (for reasons stated above). I have one as surplus in the garage if you would like it (I increased power above that which the pump could reliably meet fuel flow demands). PM me your address if you do, Dave.
  2. Virden, yours are exactly where I have mine on current x-flow and on 3 previous engines. Their positions make perfect sense to me based on what function they are performing, Dave.
  3. Could anyone explain why some 16v Vx Rocker Covers have this type of small baffle (small one) Whereas others have a full plate that looks like this and covers the majority of the cover . . And more importantly - what version should a dry sumped engine have ? Thanks in advance, Dave.
  4. I've taken engine out seperately and also with gearbox attached. Agree with other posters that engine only is easier and saves pouring gearbox oil all-over the floor. However, having sourced a blanking plug for the rear of the gearbox I now tend to pull the whole lot out in one go. (I do have the removable diagonals though, which makes things immeasurably easier). Take off speedo drive first though as these tend to snap off REALLY easily if you bound chem off a chassis rail. It's a heavy old lump, get assistance. It reduces risk of damaging the chassis. Dave
  5. Agree with comment from Nick, as I had similar issues at one time with my L.A. car (and also with others who mentioned Jigsaw, R&R . . they're good firms, though Jigsaw I think is more a triumph/ital specialist I think). I would also check gearbox mount, and for amount of free play (backlash) on each of the rear wheels. Dave
  6. Greetings, interested in the carpets. Have sent PM. Dave
  7. James, I work for the company that make one of the brands of PPF (indeed one of the ones that Dave fits). Unfortunately I cannot get any discount on film, (actually cannot even buy it unless I set myself up as a "trader"), but I did have the opportunity during a site visit to have a play at putting some film onto a variety of surfaces. The "head of training" failed miserably to get me to fit even relatively small pieces of film to a standard which he found acceptable. I too am reaching the stage of a rebuild where I am contemplating having PPF fitted. I don't think that I will be doing it myself. Dave
  8. .. .. and if it not a plate type LSD .. .. ??
  9. Just dug mine out - has 90 448 558 and /ANF4 stamped on reverse side from clutch in middle section, and on the grooved outer ring has 48/94 and DE HAY stamped in small (5mm tall) letters. No other numbers visible. D
  10. Pretty darned sure I have. DO you want a picture ? (and is the part number anywhere on the flywheel ?) Dave
  11. Most likely a stupid question ... .. but if you are going for a "new chassis" could you not replace with a left hand drive one ? I know that in UK you can convert LHD cars to RHD (many imports from US get this treatment - I know of 3 TR4's and 6's in Oswestry that came back from US and got this treatment). You'd effectively be doing a similar thing .. .. .. just doing it the hard way !! D p.s. - I'd love to rebuild your car for you . .. but need to finish mine first, and even then I think that the day job would still pay more.
  12. Next time I'm out and about with passenger who can take the vid clip I will do. D
  13. range of i-phones available. (and of course a couple of trusty Nokia bricks .. )
  14. Jonathan .. . you are joking aren't you :-) I have just about mastered typing. At a REAL push I might struggle through adding a picture (I have some notes somewhere). !! D
  15. I think it is a case of TADTS. At least on my '97 x-flow and later 97 Vx they both behave in the same manner. However, if this is not normal behaviour then it would be nice to know how you get on with any repair. Dave.
  16. I was advised how to get the DS belt on by a "Vx Guru" and it has always worked for me .. .. Get the belt onto both toothed pulleys about 5mm or so. GIve the engine a quick crank .. . and the belt pulls itself on. D
  17. I've got a couple of silver KN Minator "minispeed" 7J-13-H2 , ET5 rims that I just had my wets taken off. Surplus to requirements. They're 8" rim to rim. Based in North Shropshire. Dave.
  18. I've definitely got 2 black mini-lite 13" Ital PCD rims - need to go, as I no longer have an Ital PCD car. Don't think I have a full set - but will check and send you a mail. Dave
  19. Update - item WAS sold. New "Owner" has found that it does not fit a 1988 pedal box - so up for sale again. Please note - on the film that came with the c/f cover was written "89 - 94". Hence sales description. Dave.
  20. Assuming you want Ford PCD and not Ital PCD. Are you wanting 6" wide or 7/8" wide rims ? Not sure I have what you are looking for, but then at least it's clear for others who might have old trackday rims hidden at the back of the shed. Dave
  21. Wonderful - so for significantly >£200 and a degree of messing around I can end up with some modern design spot calipers that are not much more useful than the original ones. Decision been made to repair the original calipers (it's got to be possible, I'm an engineer !!!) and at least keep the car "period". Although if anyone knows the manufacturer/supplier of the original items it might be useful for folks in the future. (and for me when I need some new pads).
  22. You were driving into Oswestry from A5/Mile End roundabout at around 12.45. Well wrapped up, and I don't blame you.
  23. Elie, In this case no was all fastened up nice and tight. Not deposited on the verge of the E17. Am rebuilding the Vx and managed to crack the O/S one through being ham-fisted. (though potentially it had a hairline crack in it already). Fingers crossed that the Wilwood one has same/similar mounting points to the original one (and works a darned site better !!!), Thanks, Dave.
  24. Purchased from Richard in 2007, placed as "shelfware" pending a ru-build. Came to fit in 2015 (don't ask) and on opening the box I found out that it was for an 89-94 vintage chassis. Contemplated getting at older car to fit this to, also contemplated having it as a display piece in my office as it is a wonderful example of Richards C/F. I did neither, .. .. .. so it is joining what is likely to be a long list of items I'll be putting up for sale (as I seriously need shelf space + monies for a project). Never fitted and comes with film template to facilitate drilling. £75 + postage. Dave.
  25. Paul, if still available I am interested. Pretty local to Northwich but probably not able to collect this weekend. Let me know if successful, Dave
