    4 Speed Gearbox

Re Andrew’s Burton reference, it looks like this is the one.

I assume it’s the Escort Sport box

    4 Speed Gearbox

Andrew, not the same as that, but thanks. I’ve just contacted RedLine and hopefully the correct one is in the post. See the photo - the ‘round bobble’ in the picture, baffle underneath it, is this located at the front of the box, near the engine, or at the back, near the gear lever?
  8. 1995 xflow, 4 speed gearbox. Gearbox inspection top cover - is there a gasket in place between the cover and gearbox housing?
  9. Wiper arms stuck on the spindles (not wipers stuck on the arms). Gentle tap with a soft hammer hold around where the arm is located on the spindle and bit of a wiggle and tug and hopefully it will come away.
  10. I got a carpet for my xflow from RedLine. May be worth an inquiry.

    Rear axle ratio

So, if the 3.9 is used besides lowering revs would that mean slower acceleration and reduced top speed?
  12. My 95 live axle xflow has 13" Two Gates wheels fitted, not sure if they are 5.5" or 6" wide.
  13. I use a little silicon sealant to secure mine.

    Yellow Seven

Yellow Seven spotted on the Southport ‘front’ car park at 17.45
  15. Thanks John, just ordered a pair.
  16. Stephen, my xflow alternator went 'pop' late last year, stuff melted inside it. I got it rebuilt locally. Only done a few miles to 'test' it and it seems OK. I'm not sure the age of it, 15+ years old at least and that's more than 3000 miles.
  17. If you can accept a size of 185/70x13 Uniroyal Rain Experts are OK
  18. About 15.30 hrs on the border of Orrell & Up Holland
  19. Just a note.......A couple of years ago I bought new callipers from a Triumph/MG 'shop' and they caused me endless problems. They weren't Girling I hasten to add. I complained to the 'shop' to no avail and ended up refurbishing my old Girling ones.
  20. Just to add to the above, smear the dust covers with red rubber grease.
  21. Stephen, word of warning, I had my set of Bilsteins rebuilt by Bilsteins, early this year. I was quoted 2 to 4 weeks, it was 6 weeks. Did a good job though.
