  1. Mine were a very tight fit. Squirt a little WD40 around the stem of headrest, it may help.
  2. Thanks for the replies, yip it does sound nice when it spits back
  3. 1600 x/f, twin 40's. When driving the 7, shall we say, spiritedly, I get a residue of petrol down the side of the body from the carb air filters. Does this indicate carbs out of balance, running rich or what. The car runs OK with no problems, pulls through the gears and has no flat spots. When driving at a more steady speed, say 40 ish MPH the petrol residue is not apparent. Anyone any ideas. 🤔
  4. Was there an artical in Motorsport News a few months ago regarding a stand being built for the horse racing circuit which would mean the closing of the motor racing circuit 🤔
  5. I have recently moved my pedals - 1996 xf - dead easy. The accelerator pedal is fixed with 1 bolt, the brake & clutch pedals are fixed with 1 bolt. Undo bolts, reposition pedals, tighten bolts, adjust clutch cable (at pedal box & bellhousing), rod from brake master cylinder & throttle cable. Do a search, it's been covered many times before.
  6. Ben, I'll have the hood bag please, let me know the cost of postage. John
  7. Thanks Shaun_E. Took my 1995 1600xf for an MOT today, gave the mechanic the flow chart you kindly mentioned in your thread, re emissions and yip it passed. He just looked at the exhaust.
  8. Have you tried a 'specialist' bathroom / tile retailer.
  9. Approx 8.00pm, southbound, hood up & I think red.
  10. Green, yellow nose about 5.20pm travelling away from the town centre.
  11. Any chance you can weld a socket on your u/s nut. Same problem happened to me and this solution worked.
  12. I'm running mine at 17 / 18 psi.
  13. Have a look at www.polleymotorsport.co.uk (can't do a thingy). They advertise in Motorsport News.

    Vtec engines

I believe the vtec also works on oil viscosity. When the engine is cold the oil is obviously cold & "thick", when the engine reaches its normal operating temperature the viscosity of the oil is then "ready for vtec".
  15. Tim, bought my first Caterham 2 weeks ago, although still new, the experience is super
  16. I'm new to Caterhams .... what is the difference between the "older style front suspension" and the current set up 🤔 😳
  17. This happened to me last weekend - Honda 'lock nuts' have 4 holes in them to accept a 4 'spigot socket'. Went to my local back street tyre place and after trying everything mentioned they welded a wheel nut to the offending nut - mig welder - and off it came. Further more, there was no harm done to the alloy wheel.
