  1. Selling for a family member due to bereavement. August 05 reg Honda Lead 100cc scooter. It's pretty much brand new - minus the warranty. Silver 153 miles - hardly used whatsoever. 4 stroke engine (probably about 120mpg) twist & go I've ridden it once, and it's pretty nippy, as it's not like the 50's that are restricted to 30mph. IIRC road tax is about £15 for the year. To ride one, you need either a full bike licence, or you have to 'pass' (attend) a CBT- Compulsory Basic Training before you can get on the road. Commuting doesn't get much cheaper. The bike is in Essex. please email me, or call 07970102886 Thanks Tim. Edited by - Tim_H on 11 Sep 2007 17:26:26

    Stunner tyres

I had these on my Cosworth. Cheap. - that's my only comment really. (it had 4WD, and ABS, so you could have put anything on it really)
  5. Two vans for sale by me. (Rayleigh, Essex) -Neither signwritten. New shape Transit 2000 'X' LWB 3.5 Tonne, Jumbo High top XXXXXXXX *****SOLD******XXXXXXXX White Steel Bulkhead 2.4 Turbo Diesel (goes very very well - uses no oil), recent oil service by me. 2 months tax, and long MOT. 1 previous (fanatical )owner Loads of History, and receipts for works done. New engine, brakes, and back axle rebuild last year. (approx £3K) New tyres. ready....... 340,000 miles. (we couldn't believe it either) - but looks and drives like 90,000. Was £24000 new. Trust me, this goes like a train. nothing really wrong with it, just surplus to us, as we've got a LWB Renault master too, and are about to pick up a couple of Kangoos tomorrow. (going all Renault to try and develop a better image). we've done shopfitting with it for the few months we've had it. We bought it for an employee who we sacked, and are not really using it to it's full potential. It will sit at a relaxed 70mph all day, and not complain. Huge value for money. I am asking £3000 inc VAT. Van 2. M Reg VW Golf MK111 van. White 1.9 Diesel (not turbo) 130,000 miles. Again, goes like a train, and uses NOT A DROP of oil. We picked it up at 99,000 miles. 6. to put my side of the story to rest..... It totally died on Sunday, and smelt of that burning electrical smell. Turned out to be the Aldon Ignitor distributor had lunched itself. A new one from CC has completely solved all the symptoms I had.
  7. could try and change engine mounts, would certainly reduce engine rock.

    . stupid post. sorry Edited by - Tim_H on 20 Aug 2006 16:01:50
  10. Thanks. A possibility, but definately not the boot floor. I had the sender out yesterday, and when it's outside the tank, I can get it to swing full scale.

to adjust the cam timing, - possibly in relation to each other, with the rest of the engine. It's a much more accurate method of doing it. It replaces the cam pulleys at the front of the Camshaft, with a pulley with 3 or 4 slots in it, usually held in place with allen bolts or the like. The cam pulley can then be rotated slightly in relation to the other cam, or crankshaft. I'm going back to Ford Pinto days, and Cosworth engines, where they were very common, especially with tuned engines running wild cams.
  12. I know loads of people run without them (because of the grovelling around you mentioned.) . - me excluded.

    Verniers

Vernier pulleys allow the cams to be rotated slightly, without rotating the engine. or visa-versa. It might not be the answer to your problems, but it's the answer to your question. Edited by - Tim_H on 20 Aug 2006 15:11:06
  14. And yes, i've searched the archives for this. I've just had a new tank fitted, due to the old one being rather dented. It's got the old sender in, and the float is pointing to about 2 o'clock when viewed from the back of the car. The gauge now reads just over 1/4 full when the tank is full Are there any baffles or obstructions that I need to miss to get it working again. (it used to be dead accurate). It's a '96 LA car BTW. Thanks Tim.
