  1. Thanks Florian/Elie I don't want a new one, just to smarten the old one.. will check out the heat resistant paints (thanks Paul)
  2. My 1968 s2 has its original exhaust and silencer.which are a not inoffensive dirty black finish. I like the look of the weathered white exhausts - how could I go about achieving this?
  3. I am replacing the old rubber hoses and am uncertain about the top hose (5" long, 1 1/4" id, 45 degree bend) from the swirl pot to the radiator. Currently there is a flexible (fluted) hose and I am finding it hard to locate a replacement. I guess that the flexible hose is needed to protect the radiator from some engine wobble (technical term!) and replacing with a 45 degree standard hose is a bad idea? Advice welcome, and/or a source for a fluted replacement please! Cheers, Minty
  4. I would be wary about slippery when wet bare aluminium floors. Suggest skateboard tape - self adhesive and grippy

  12. Watch out for it sliding around in the boot and denting the aluminium. I have an old small suitcase wedged in the boot to contain stuff.
  13. Thanks for the tip but the Weller option is not the same as the original Rubery Owen style.
  14. Ok, it is probably better to leave them alone.
  15. Hmm.. Elie, the wheels needing work are original S2 steels.. but need reduction from 7" to 4 1/2"I wouldnt want to put those you suggested on the car.
  16. I have 4 steel wheels which have previously been banded and I want to get them returned to their original width. Any recommendations where to get this done, ideally close to Bournemouth. Thanks for any info!
  17. I have a few old Smiths and AC gauges which need refurbishment including the faceplate and chrome rim. The latter is not too much of an issue. I would like to do the work myself but where can I source the faceplates from, or is it a case of somehow repainting and redoing the decals (how!?). Any tips welcomed Minty
