  1. Mmm, so that's about 50 kg. Wonder why mine is (allegedly) 580kg. Hey ho, still flies. Minty.
  2. Copied from 'Wanted 1.6 Superlight'.. My 1.8k Supersport weighs in at 580kg (incl 6 speed box), the superlights are 470kg (I think). 110kg is a heck of a lot..but where are the big gains, and which ones are CHEAP! Wheels (4 light instead of 5 heavy) will be a fair amount Windscreen and weather gear Seats Heater Carbon Are the vented disks lighter, what about the LSD ? I am assuming the chassis is the same..

  4. Glad it turned out to be a goodun, he had dropped the price a bit since I saw it advertised so I expect you have got yourself a bargain. Don't forget to loosen the straps on the hood frame before trying to get the hood fitted... Minty
  5. I managed to pick up some secondhand deflectors and agree with ISmall, not a lot of use. As I was lobbing them up on the shelf, I wondered about heating and tweaking the shape a bit but without having a wind tunnel (?!) I didn't bother. If anyone has a picture of their 'custom' deflectors that work I think I would be interested in taking a look.
  6. ..did I mention my commission rates! Good luck.
  7. Andrew - any luck with the Hammersmith 7 I mailed you about ?
  8. Steve - or, here's a radical thought..as we're in the same County...7 and I could come and try them on for size.
  9. Hertfordshire, I'll mail you. Anyone out there got a picture of a car with them fitted ?
  10. Peter L, quite possibly, thanks but first does anyone know where there is a picture of them fitted to a 7.. (do they hang off the sidescreen mounts?)
  11. Well, I think I need to see some or at least the (out of print) catalogues and decide from there. Minty
  12. ...Oh...noted ! I'll carry on with the 'screen for now and try removal in the summer.
  13. Peter - you mention 'wind deflector'. I was trying to catch my breath at speed without sidescreens yesterday and I wondered if there were any deflectors available that slot into the side screen mounts on the screen. Is this what you have...if so where did you get them ? Breathless Minty
  14. Thanks for the advice, at least I am in the right ball park. I will experiment when time permits. Chris C - what profile tyres do you use ?
  15. Mobile number = Mobile Network = Pledge amount, entirely up to you, it costs me pennies so min. a couple of quid I suppose or it's not worth a cheque and a stamp! Have the phone turned on, you wil get a message that an Operator Logo has been received. You can view it then save it or disgard. I'll email you my address for the cheque - made payable to Leukemia Research Fund. Minty
  16. daresay - I'll spend 10p though! Come on then...you got a Nokia ? Have a logo on me!
  17. Yep - I think you have summed it up ! All you have to do is convince Caterham.
  18. IMHO .. 1. Scuttle and nosecone abrasion by badly fitting bonnet. If built by Caterham, they should get the bonnet fitting so it rests on the foam not the paint. 2. Side panel abrasion by bottom edge of bonnet. A design feature ? The bonnet is pulled down onto the top of the side panels so I think paint damage is inevitable. Just an opinion though - good luck with Caterham.
  19. Regular boring old SMSs can't be saved to replace the Operator Logo on the handset. Our 7 logo is sent as a bitmap and as long as you like it can be saved to replace Orange or whatever, there are sites on the web to make this happen (they charge a nominal 10p). As I have made a nice bitmap, I just want to make it easier for folk to show which car we love and get some Leuk charity money. Minty
  20. I have 15" Prisoner wheels with 195/50 Avons on my '99 1.8 SuperSport with widetrack suspension. Pressures were 15 lbs front and 16 lbs back when i got the car...any views on whether these pressures are best. Rather get informed advice than resort to trial and error ! The tyres are fairly worn, suggestions for replacement tyres - profile and make would be appreciated - regular road use but likely to be tempted to an occasional track day. Ta Minty
  21. In exchange for a charitable donation to the Leukemia Research Fund I will send the Seven logo to your Nokia Mobile phone. The logo - as featured on the grill of our favourite car - will replace the Network name on the following handsets... 3210, 51xx, 61xx, 81xx, 82xx, 91xx...which is most of the modern Nokias. Reply or eMail with your mobile number, the network you are on and pledge amount. It costs me 10p to send so please make it worth my while - it's worth having ... it looks cool! 22. Thanks for all (well..most) of the comments ! Looks like this will be on the list of changes to the new car when it arrives next week.
  23. Is this a simple change ? ... where do I get the bits from ?
  24. A slight change of tack....if there was a choice of 1.8ss and 1.6ss (both non Superlight) with 6 speed boxes..what are the views? Prompted by the '99 1.8ss for sale at Caterham Cars.
