  1. Yes have leathers but not yet decided whether to keep them with the car.
  2. Looking for a pair of GRP Tillet seats in good condition. Anyone have any tucked away in their loft?
  3. I'd be up for helping out if timing/availability permits. Where in West Oxfordshire are you? Edited to say I could even swing past Punch to collect the crane & leveller en route. Just a thought.
  4. #2, I've used Brasso to good effect on the tailpipe, and in fact any pipework that has previously had a good machine polish. Seems to keep it looking smart for very little effort.
  5. If I wanted a spare Sigma engine as a project for rebuilding/tuning, which Ford models should I be searching for that had the closest spec of engine to the sigmas used by Caterham? There seems to be a plethora of sigma variants in a wide range of Fiestas and Focuses to choose from. Any ideas? Or are they all much of a muchness by the time they've been stripped back to a bare engine?
  6. I had a similar experience on my S1 Elise. The battery warning light flickered intermittently - it was one of the battery post clamps coming loose. A quick nip up with a spanner resolved it. Might be worth you checking your clamps as they can/do work loose over time. Could be a quick and cost-free solution.
  7. Just fitted a set of these courtesy of @graearea. The measurements for my RHS mirror were a bit peculiar so kudos to him for making 3 versions for me to try - one of them fitted perfectly in the end. Haven't driven with them yet but they feel a lot sturdier than the standard mirrors, and the SPA mirrors I've fitted mean I can actually see what's behind me now. Let me add that it's worthwhile being as precise as possible with your measurements - I used a digital vernier caliper to measure mine.
  8. #16, I've not heard of any issues with the roller barrel bodies. The TB's used on the Sigma 150's are traditional butterfly bodies I believe, and it's these that have the chequered reputation for balancing.
  9. I understand and have heard all of the above in relation to mapping & balancing of throttles, but in relation to the quality of the Caterham/Titan bodies themselves I'm curious to know how they differ from AT or Jenvey offerings. It seems to me that any adjustment creep should be able to be isolated/permanently fixed by the end-user unless something about them is just fundamentally wrong? I've researched the archives but haven't found a definitive explanation of why the 150 ITB's behave the way they do. The mapping seems to have been resolved, along with the disconnection of the MAP sensor, so if the ITB adjustment creep can be fixed then this should solve their reputational issue.
  10. #2, what is it about the Caterham/Titan TB's that aren't great? Curious to hear opinions - I've recently picked up a new-to-me sigma Superlight 150 so am interested to know more about them.
  11. Matthew - PM replied to and funds sent. Thanks.
  12. Potentially interested in this, assuming it would be suitable for balancing ITB's on a sigma-engined car?
  13. That's perfect - thanks for the photos. Looks like I'll be going for a set of brackets then.
  14. What fettling is needed to fit these to a metric chassis? Potentially interested in a set but curious to understand what's involved.
  15. It's been advertised online for a while sadly. I remember seeing it on Pistonheads when I was in the market a few months ago. In fact, it's still being advertised: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14080356 The conversion looks to have been done well, but I'm curious as to why it hasn't been snapped up already. Guess the market just doesn't like converted cars?
  16. Hi Stuart, what was wrong with the original bushes? Were they excessively worn, or did upgradeitis strike again?
  17. Well that looks like it means business! Lovely car. Good luck with the sale (Digs around down the back of the sofa and eyes up the kids' piggy banks to rustle up some funds...)
  18. Ah, the affliction of all car enthusiasts everywhere! Glad it's not just me though. How do you find the PowerFlex bushes in terms of NVH? Better, worse or about the same as the standard ones?
  19. #8, that's exactly the conclusion I came to when working from first principles, so I'm curious to hear if peoples' real-world experience bears this out. Another question - does more engine braking increase the risk of locking up the rears when coming off throttle? Presume so. I should add that I really like the idea of running a lightened flywheel, but I'm mindful of the law of unintended consequences before I make the investment...
  20. Watched #5 last night. Well done for a smooth start-up. No major snags it seems? Very curious to hear your thoughts on the driving experience with the lightened flywheel once you're out on the road. All the promotional material I've read across various sources suggests faster engine (and therefore road) acceleration and greater engine braking - my question would be whether this manifests itself as a vehicle that becomes harder or easier to drive smoothly.
  21. Subscribed. Good progress so far. Well made videos too.
  22. A bit of googling seems to suggest Titan, at least according to this historical advert for a Sigma 150. https://www.vr-eps.com/detail/222027/used-caterham-seven-1-6-1600-150-road-sport-2dr-manual-warrington
  23. Thread revival alert... Curious to know if this got resolved. Are the Sigma 150 DTH bodies made by Titan? Or someone else?
