  1. Turn 7 did a video earlier this year about immobilisers, including instructions on how to reprogram the fobs @Stu Smith
  2. Nice! I like that idea @Drumster 👏
  3. Hello folks, My LSD has a breather pipe, which managed to quite successfully breathe all over the floor of a garage on my last track day. It turns out it was just pointing down, with nothing on the end to catch surplus. So I'd like to put a small container on the end. But — and no chortling at the back there, please — I seem to be utterly incompetent at searching for the right thing. I just want a small container with a 3/8-1/2" inlet where I can stick my pipe. Does anyone have any inspirational container solutions, preferably with a link to where one can purchase please? Thanks!
  4. I had some Bilt Hamber Atom Mac laying about last year, and read it does the same thing as ACF50, but can also be sprayed on brake discs (which is where I'd typically used it — during a proper car 'detailing' [wash 🤣]) So I used that all on the underside of my car prior to winterising.
  5. I do this all the time Scott. But it’s boring and it’s a faff. If I could “flick a switch” and go from covered oil cooler to uncovered oil cooler, I would 😂 I already have PPE’s oil sighting tube just so I don’t have the faff of taking the nose cone off to check oil levels! 😀
  6. What a cracking thread My wings were looking terrible, but after 10 minutes of elbow grease they're now respectable again. The T-cut top tip is genius!
  7. I have tinnitus (years of motorbiking ) so any time in the Cat just winds it up. I never leave home without some form of ear protection. Typically that's either the home-made Peltor Optime III + Cardo electronics (pretty good, but the wind noise still seems loud to me), or Apple AirPod Pros (incredibly effective — active noise cancelling FTW! — arguably more so than the Peltors) or these… https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00TA17XEQ Those 3M ear plugs are amazing too. Very effective in my experience. --Mark

    dog cage for 7

Dog's hearing is supposed to be, on average, four times as sensitive as ours. Personally I find the Cat gives me horrendous tinnitus if I don't use ear defenders or noise cancelling headphones. I'd really question whether it's a necessity to put a dog in a Caterham, as it could be pretty distressing for the poor furball. As if we didn't all love dogs enough, if you've not read "The genius of dogs" it's worth a read. You'll learn that they basically have the emotional sentience of a small child. One has to feel that putting a dog through any form of stress is rather unfair.
  9. No JV. But - I do have a BTLE OBD reader that works with the Cat. Just managed to find the O2 sensor voltage and after swapping sensor for a new one I see the behaviour described here. Temp got to 60, and it would drop from circa .8v to 0.05 and the back up again. Up and down, up and down. The old one was stuck at .9v. Sorted :) * reader is a OBDlink MX+ It works nicely with RaceChrono too, which is how I get the RPMs and throttle overlays on my track day videos
  10. (comment purely to sub to thread) (plus I have a knackered o2 sensor and I would like to fathom out how to work out if the new one is working )
  11. How quickly could you test Andrew? I need my car this weekend, and would need them back by Aug 1st at the absolute latest (track day the next day ) but if you were able to make use of them next week I could probably pull them out on Sunday and ship to you on Monday for next day delivery? Unless you're in Yorkshire somewhere, then I could probably drop them in If you find somebody nearer able to help, that'd be great. But if you're really stuck, I'll see what I can do. Many thanks! --Mark
  12. Andrew, you are a star! Thank you for checking into them. Looks like I'll have to live with their randomness and admire your work from afar
  13. #23 Jonathan, thanks for helping Andrew identify the connectors Andrew, here's a quick video if it helps… R400 Superlight gauge connectors If you manage to identify them and are confident you can build two with them already attached I will be eternally grateful (and will place the ebay order promptly ) Many thanks both! --Mark
  14. It looks like my R400 Superlight has different connectors — I presume this would mean some cable cutting for me Andrew?
  15. Nothing to say, except posting so I can subscribe to the thread It's fascinating to follow — thanks for posting all the details James! (My R400 is the same age as yours, and therefore I suspect has the same engine. Albeit mine has now been fettled by PPE — 170+ torques, 230hp+ at 7600, on E10 fuel. I was happy with that outcome)
  16. Only this week I was asking the garage if it was possible to calibrate my temp gauge (which I know is about 15° out, as I also have a Bluetooth OBD reader permanently plugged in). This is a work of genius! Thank you for sharing all the effort you've gone to Andrew. You're a truly generous gent.
  17. On the way towards Norwood Edge. You passed me on my bike. I was very jealous. Stupid time to go out for a bike ride in this sun That's a beautiful shade of red your car is in.
  18. First video dropped… graearea and myself mucking about at the Bilster Berg (OMG, what a circuit!)
  19. Depending on your definition of 'not too far', Northampton Motorsport is probably 1h45 from you. I've used them and they're very good. https://vimeo.com/772136995/1f988ce424
  20. Oh no Enrique, that's terrible luck! *yikes* At least it was only a car fault eh. Glad you managed to get it home! Until next year gentlemens …
  21. Absolutely cracking day out at the Nords last Friday with @graearea. Great to meet Enrique, @Madriles, the night before too. We saw you heading out on to the track just after 9am, but then didn't see your car again all day. Where were you hiding? Did you have a good day? It's a pity we didn't get to do a three-cat convoy There's a distinct possibility we'll head back again next year. RaceChrono said we managed an 8:07, with an eight-dead 'optimal' time. The heavens opened in the afternoon though, and neither of us were brave enough to push any harder Unfinished business, then. In other news, the Bilster Berg track day we did on the Tuesday before was probably my best day on track, ever. For multiple reasons. Mostly though because it was filthy weather in the morning, and we just did this… Videos coming to the YouTubes channel (below) as soon as I've finished sifting through the GBs captured.
  22. I recently had a chat with another car club about their digital publication. I was interested in how many read it. Tiny, tiny, percentage of their membership. Maybe 1% or so. I'm very pro digital mags, I like the lack of waste and clutter. However, my pragmatic former Product Manager head realises it's probably a daft expense for a club of our size and the actual demand.
  23. This is how my R400 on 13s is setup. Rides and handles a joy. Note: it has been flat floored and I'm only 63 kg. Might affect that setup.
  24. Oo, what's the track at Salzburg Pete? What a beautiful area to visit. You are a lucky chap being down there in Europe!
