Hi all, my car is in storage, while I'm abroad....my son uses it once or twice a year...otherwise its in an 'air chamber' in storage.....been stored for 12 months so far...expect another two years to come...........it get started every few months and rolled.....will the fuel in the tank become 'old' ?.....or if it get a half tank of new stuff mixed with the old stuff each summer ...will that be ok ??? cheers Graham

Hi considering storing my 7 for an extended period....Carcoon looks like a good route ....does anyone have advice of the right size of carcoon for an S7...or indeed anyone considering selling theirs ?.....cheers Graham

Cheers Mark, the standard filter (on the end of the BS airbox) is my current setup...reason for looking at the 'ability' to swap from one to the other is extra performance with an 'open' piper foam filter (but it would be nosier for track days) ....so BS would still need to go back on from Tracks...........G Edited by - GPBox on 1 Sep 2012 12:29:57

Hi all, I have a 1.6SS w/Jenvies and BS airbox about 150bhp..........a few Qs: 1. Is there a straight swap solution to use a foam filter in-place of airbox that fits onto existing airbox backplate ? 2. If there is a solution to '1', would it make any performance difference (without have a remap for my emerald ?) 3. If '1' is not true, but performance can be gained...what's the best solution ? cheers all Graham

(for what it's worth) thought I'd share my recent experience, may be hlepful to the 'collective' ! first thanks to Simon @Meteor, good advice and service..... My setup, 1.6SS, wide track, 150BHP, CR500's, standard brakes (except have been running Mintex 1144 on the front)...road use and track day.. Problem: Brakes felt lacking in feel and real bite to scrub of speed on track/road.... Last week chatted with Steve, he recommended, Ferodo 2500 on the front and Mintex 1144 on rear...I also fitted new CC solid disc to the front and replaced the brake fluid (Eze-bleed are ace !!). First time I drove it (unsurprisingly had virtually no brakes), but following bed-in process, really started to give me the feel I was after... Track day last Sunday at Donington...brakes were fantastic, into Melbourn loop etc, great feel and rapid slowdown.... Thought I'd share this as I had been looking at 4 pot upgrade etc etc, this u/g cost around £220 all in, prettty easy to do....well worth the interim step if anyone else is considering the 'great brake debate'...... cheers G

Have just noticed my speedo (2001 SS) needle wobbles around the actual speed, so when I am doing 70 it wobbles between 60 and 80(ish) I did replace the speedo quill a few weeks ago, but since drove to LM24 with no problems.... have had a feel under car and speedo sender seems to be correctly attached..... any ideas ? cheers Graham

Hi all, my daughters 2003 1.6 Mini Cooper is (I suspect due to a dodgy wheel speed sensor) occasionally flashing on the run flat warning and ABS light (which go off on their own too !).......... Does anyone know how I can determine which wheel it is ?...can I interrogate fault codes etc from the dashboard ? cheers Graham
