  4. Just having my pump serviced byTitan, but in chatting with them, they are running out of parts to fix them beyond bearings/seals.... has anyone found an alternative pump that can be used ?...with a little re-plumbing or major changes ?. Hopefully not a problem I need to address in the near term... cheers

  7. Hi all, trying the impossible to get the DS pump out of my 2003 R400K without removing Throttle bodies etc... Q1: which direction does the bolt holding the DS pulley UNWIND ? clockwise or Anti ? Q2: Is it possible to remove the upper and lower retaining bolts w/o having to remove the Throttle bodies ?.... thanks all Graham
  8. Hi lovin' my new (to me) 2003 R400K this year... for a winter project, looking to stip out the rear dedion,, A-frame etc..that all look a bit tatty underneath so could do with a stip and repaint (powercoat ?)..I'm pretty handy with my spanners, more interested in best practice steps: Is there a good how to guide somewhere on here ? .. ie should I just take out A-Frame, torsion bar, drop links and de-deon .. can they just be wire brushed then 'Hammerited' or powercoated ?...whats the pros/cons. wrt bushes, whats the best process for getting old out and new in ? If I used new silicon bushes in the back end, do I have to change the front end too ? - any recommendation on the best bushed to use for Road/Track-day use ? all thoughts / ideas welcome - PS I already have new Nitrons so the actual springs etc are perfect.. cheers Graham
  9. thanks, all ideas welcome..will give the DOT's a go first..
  10. got it thanks....I;ve order a few 'lift the dot'..so sort it ...cheers
  11. Hi Stephen, are you using 'pull the dot' or 'lift the dot' fastners ?....the pull the dot I think are the 'directional' clips.... if you are talking about 'list the dot' ..how do you fix them to the car ...assume they cannot be riveted ? tx Graham
  12. Hi all, on the assumption (which may be wrong) that I can drive with the passenger side of the Tonneau only fitted..should I be using 'lift the dot' fastners ? Tried this today, with my aero and the cover front poppers all popped open as the wind got under the cover... if I can use 'lift the dot' / directional poppers....which direction should they 'face'..ie where is the lifting pressure coming from..assume not the front as the leading edge of the tonneau is behind the aero screen... cheers Graham PS - other than Soft bits 4-7's, any good source for these poppers ? G
  13. VW garage has sorted my car....Sons BMW with same problem, fixed by emptying fuid and replacing with warm ater and washing up liquid...makes nice bubbles too !!...
  14. 2018 Golf GTI, 6 months old, for last month warning light telling me washer fluid is low has been on....even though bottle is full..been using Rainex washer addative (pretty much since new)... decided to take to VW dealer..dropped off today.. VW called...problem all fixed..issue was: The car monitors the 'resistance' of the water, because I was not using VW washer addative, system detected a problem..hence the light came on. They have now refilled using VW addative...light is off....problem resolved.. they kindly mentioned I should go back in when I need more addative !!!...hmmm. this sounds like BS to me...suspect a simple level sensor not working..and the problem will comeback (hopefully not !) anyone come across this before ???...going to double check when I pick up car later...
  15. thanks all....yep..its a 1/2" UNF...confirmed by my local nut n bolt specialist !!
  16. Thanks Jonathan, does that mean I can use either ?.....but looks like the bolt I have bought is not a fine thread ?....thanks
  17. Hi all....fitting a side impact bar...need to get a longer bolt which attaches the rear A-frame just in-front on the rear wheels..to the chassis. thought it was an M12....but threads are finer than bolt I've just bought from Caterham...this one... https://caterhamparts.co.uk/search?controller=search&orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=BM12X105S72&submit_search= ideas ? thanks,. Graham
