Thanks John - yes clear (with a faint tint of green perhaps) is the one I need. The OEM source remains a mystery (Redline included) so if any one can shed some light….

My top dashboard bulb holder and green lens between the two dials has disintegrated (brittle plastic, UV degradation etc) and I am searching for a replacement. The Caterham is a 1999 Roadsport / Supersport (1800 K-series) but I believe that most cars from this era had a similar dash layout and lights. If you have switched to a Stack digital display and still have the previous lamp holders available (x1 or x3) please let me know. I have investigated the modern LED alternatives and not found anything that is a good enough match, so I am hoping for an original replacement. Pictured are the original 3 lamps, as they were. Top one needs a new lens (green) and bulb holder. cheers, Malc

I have fitted arm rests to my Caterham-supplied S3 half-doors. It is a little fiddly, but they do make huge difference to driver comfort and also help fix the half-door to the car. Mine have poppers front and rear, so yes I think you will need to drill and fix poppers on your scuttle. As mentioned above, tape the doors firmly in place first, and mark the holes with a centre punch. I was able to push a sharp screwdriver through the doors to create the popper hole, so something similar could be used to align the door first.

Thanks Jonthan, Yes all 3 of my cars are registered with TFL for automatic payment – more so I don't get fined if I ever need to travel in to the ULEZ zone rather than actual planned visits. My 2004 petrol VW Golf is compliant (who knew) but the 2011 diesel is not (no surprise there). While wondering if I can squeeze us all in to the Mk4 for a family run to Heathrow, I thought I would investigate the 2000 Caterham as well… If a 1998 Lotus Elise can be compliant via an CoC from Lotus which states the NOx levels are 0.076g/Km – under the 0.08g/km required by TFL – then surely a Caterham with the same engine should be as well?

Have any K-series owners applied for and received a Certificate of Conformity from Caterham Cars, that then allows them to register their K-Series Caterham as ULEZ compliant? I have read on other forums of successful K-Series Lotus Elsie owners doing this via Lotus, so would like to investigate the option for my K-Series Caterham.

Drive in and drive out was just under 2hours, but I had already removed the passenger seat and runners, so it was a bare floor. You will have to speak with Phil at Arch for an exact cost, as it may vary between floor styles and panels. Budget in excess of £500, but the transformation is worth it.

Had mine swapped out at Arch Motors yesterday after tearing a hole in it when I ran over a rock on the road… great service from Phil and the team.

1. Yes, after 5 years they are not worth risking. New boots will rejuvenate the drive. 2. Talk to your local owners and see who is recommended. Some tyre specialists are great, but the big chains are to be avoided. If you have a local race team, race support outfit or classic car specialist, then that's often a good place to start too.

The looks like the lacquer on the wheels has 'gone' and water is now ingressing under the paint. The wheel(s) will need a full strip and repaint as far as I know.

I have just had mine replaced with a Redline sump - good luck in your search, but if you want to keep it on the road that will be your quickest option.

Reading the tech specs on the Sthil website, the sets create a Mesh network using Bluetooth, with a claimed range of 600mtres. They were designed to keep logging crews in communication around a forest site, so if the Mesh (relay) works well enough you should be able to add multiple headsets and remain in contact if driving in close convoy.... maybe. Sthil does warn against compatibility with other Mesh systems - Sena being one - but that could be brand protection work. A real-world test with multiple units / brands might reveal different results. There are a few similar products designed for motorcycle riders - with in-helmet Comms using a similar Bluetooth mesh network. These are also reputed to refuse to play nicely with other brands.... the motorcycle press reviews recommend groups stick with one system for guaranteed connectivity, so I would expect Seven owners would suffer the same. Happy to be proved wrong here - live chat while blating as a group would be an interesting addition, but it currently requires costly hardware and a coordinated effort by all involved.
