  1. I'd stick with Redline. They were very busy earlier this year, which aused delays but I have just bought some gear ad all was sorted in a few days.
  2. Thanks for the info guys. I have all the parts form Redline and didn't realise this was in the manual. Just need to get some DIY done, there's a lot of it, then look at repairs to the car.
  3. My offside vertical link sheared off, luckily only at 20mph, so no other damage. Has anyone replaced these themselves and if so has anyone got any tips on how to do this? Or even instructions on how to carry this out. If none of the above, does anyone know what car they came from so I could get a Haynes Manual, hopefully. Someone has said they are from a Spitfire, hopefully, the car and not the plane. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I used the printed board LED's in mine which I got from Sevens & Classics but I think they are JAL units. Much better thn the original.
  5. Thanks for the info guys. Having looked more closely, I am going to repair and will email Chris at Redline as have bought gear from him perviously.
  6. Hi Nick You will probably find that Chris at Redline is just very busy. I have found that recently and he did get back to me. Maybe a chase up email.
  7. Hi Ian Thanks for the info, ive not heard of Canley but they do two, I just need to know which one. Perhaps you know. I have also emailed Canley to ask them.
  8. Hi Ian Thanks for the info. It was oiled, not greased, but as I only got the car Jan 2020, I don't know what happened previously. I am only looking for reliability. I did think to try Redline. I also sent Caterham an email, although not confident or=f a useful response.
  9. I used thin black cable ties for mine. Easy to change remove later, if necessary.
  10. Hi all My 1997 S3 front off side wheel doesn't like my car anymore. The shaft going into the top of the Trunnion sheared off. First, can anyone advise what I need to repair. Secondly, It has been suggested I upgrade both front wheel's geometry. If this upgrade makes it stronger and more reliable I might have to dig into the piggy bank. Can anyone advise what I need, to carry out this upgrade.
  11. When wearing shorts last year I could feel my left calf burning, even through the carpet. I installed Dynamat, from Carbuilder.com, under the carpet and wherever I could fit it in the engine bay. I have had 2 outings so far in 25 deg temperatures and whilst not cold it certainly doesn't burn. I have attached a ling https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/dynamat-dynaliner-18-31mm-81x137cm
  12. Hi I bought one in February from ebay from a guy in Surrey, I think. I know he had two at the time. His title on eaby is "bargainjon". see link below as it looks like he still has one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caterham-7-Genuine-Caterham-heater-matrix-blower-complete/143915126951?hash=item21820290a7:g:CZcAAOSw0Ihf~Byp
  13. Guys See piccy attached. I want to know what the connector should be that will connect the breather elbow on the rocker cover to the pipe. Currently, it is a threaded nipple which whilst it will do the job is unlikely to be the correct fitting
  14. I used the Halfords one and the sticky is on the mirror bracket on the car floor now with the pad still on the windscreen. So I am going to try the Ford one. Before anyone asks I did clean both the mirror bracket and windsnreen with the cleaning pad provided.
  15. Thanks Brian, looks like that could be one of my projects this year when I finish creating and en-suite in the house.
  16. Hi Brian I would like to make a sump gaurd and your fixing method looks the easiest, so can you advise what you have used under the u-bolts? It looks like it might be a closed cell foam. Also that looks like ally sheet, I'd guess at about 3 of 4mm thick
  17. I've always used the "turn belt 90deg" method on all my cars starting from a 1951 Mk ! Consul and it has never failed me.
  18. Never heard of E10 before, but fron what i have just read on the web it is a replacement for unleaded, i.e. 91 Octane. My car, a 1997 1600 X-flow runs better on Super Unleaded, i.e. 95 to 98 Octane So, the questuon is, is Super being replaced? I am concerned as my car farts and fluffs a bit on 91 Octane.
  19. Hi Tom I'd be interested in seeing the result. Could you post a few piccy's when you do this. Ta!
  20. Hi Paul I know there is one as I have one that I got from Just Add Lightness. It wasn't a stock item but I telephoned and Doug who got me one. I cant find the phone number but his email is support@justaddlightness.co.uk
  21. Hi Robert Thanks for the info. If you do have these and want to lose them, I would be interested. I have just trawled through Burton web page and cannot find them. I have also looked on Car Builder and they don't have any either. I hope to hear from you later.
  22. Thsi is a job I want to do and after a lot of searching, have found Wunderseal, from Car Builder, see link below. I haven't got mine yet as I doing other odds & sods at the moment. https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/wunderseal-underbody-sealer
  23. I have a 1997 Ford 1600 X-flow and now have a heater to install. Could someone tell me what the thread size and type is in the block so that I cn get the correct connectors. All I do know is that the hose is 5/8" ID.
  24. Hi Ian Thanks for the link, I now have an original heater sitting on my bench all cleaned up ready to start fitting. The link you gave me is a guy from Guildford who bought a load of gear when Midlands Caterham shut up shop and as he is not working much is now sorting what he has got and selling it. He dropped off to me en-route to deliver to someone else. Hopefully, I just need the hoses and engine threaded connectors, which will probably both be Redline items.
