  1. I wouldn't have thought it is an issue as long as you washed it off with car wash fluid in the normal car wash way.
  2. Have you tried Burton @ www.burtonpower.com If not try calling Neil at MK Sports Cars. If he cant help he may know someone who can. Probably easiest to send enquiry on their website https://www.mksportscars.com/
  3. I've now filled in the form on "uberniche" twice and haven't heard back. Does anyone have a direct contact as I would prefer the Big Knob, over an extension.
  4. Good Luck with your purchase. I went to GP but got a better car privately through Blatchat. Amazingly the chassis numbers were only 50 apart. Whilst I didn't buy from GP, I felt that they were genuinely inteterested in the outcome. If I ever change, they will be on my list to visit. I also looked at Sevens & Classics at Brands Hatch
  5. If it is club members making stuff for club member's, I think it should be OK whether they make a profit or not.
  6. Hi Jon I've sent a WhatsApp with the info
  7. Hi Could I have the Spitfire manual please and can you post to me??
  8. Hi Rod It's rayjackson1950@gmail.com
  9. Have you any pictures and how much?
  10. I have a 1997 car and mine just push out. I do not disconnect until they are out as its much easier that way.
  11. I saw one on th eBangers & Cash web site a day or so ago. No idea of how many gears though.
  12. For cutting cable ties I have a pair of "End Cutting Pliers" Mine are 150mm and the smallest I can find, so far, on the net are 200mm. Toolsation have them but at 200mm long. https://www.toolstation.com/minotaur-end-cutting-pliers/p23694 I've had mine years which came in a set and, I now have no idea where I got them.
  13. If anyone is interested I have magazines from the January 2021 issue up to October 2022. If anyone wants them they are available to collect from CM11. If you want them sent, I will investigate cost.
  14. Hi Mark I have PM'd you as I would like the shower cap
  15. Hi Mark I'm interested in the shower cap. My car is a 1997 so I assume it will fit. Would you know. As fuel cost is about £35. could let me know delivery cost please Ray
  16. The problem with Rivnuts is that they can spin when trying to remove n the future. My rear wings are fixed with these, as the picture. Unfortunately, I don't know what they are. I have tried various searches on the web but can't find them. So if anyone knows what they are I would appreciate it.
  17. Is this up and running now
  18. Thanks all for the info guys. I now need to find a higher ratio diff. I think I read in the build manual, or somewhere similar, that they do 3 different ratios, being 4.125 3.99 3.77 Or there abouts
  19. I have a 1997 1.6 X-flow with thermostat fitted and don't get overhating issues
  20. Thanks Jonathan. No picture though, but I assume just drill through the part that moves, when it opens/closes part of the stat.
  21. Hi Guys Thanks for the info. I have now checked and get 16 turns of the wheel to 33 turns of the prop. I make that 1.03. It was originally a race care so I wouldn't be surprised to have a lower ratio diff. But 1.03 doesn't sound right to me. I did look up some blurb donkeys ago and thought the lowest Ital diff was 3.77. The question is, have I made a schoolboy error? Or is it correct. As a matter of interest I can easily accelerate from 35mph in 5th gear. Another reason I thought I hade a low ration diff. Any thoughts, or polite abuse if I have made a stupid error, would be appreciated.
  22. I have read at various times about drilling a hole in the thermostat to aid filling. My only question is what size? I assume no more than 2mm, but would like advise. This would certainly help me as my cross-flow only takes about 4.5litres on initial fill and many top ups therefter to get to the stated capacity.
  23. I have a 1997 S3 and would like a spare wheel carrier for it, if anyone has one they no longer want.
  24. Hi Steve Can I have the Timing light and Synchrometer please. If you could PM me, we ca take it from their. I live in Billericay.
  25. Can I check the diff ratio without removing the diff. I assume I can when in the air by counting wheel turns against prop turns, but all I have found is how to do it with the diff removed. I'm interested as the speedo against Google maps suggests the speedo is about 10% out.
