  1. Thank you, but unfortunately Stephen, you haven't missed out on much. It's only a small discount.
  2. #3, Jonathan, I've tried the Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber cleaner. The finish was surprisingly good and brightened me up as well as the switches. But I've found that it never seems to dry fully. When I give it a rub over some time later there's still a residue that comes off, and still being 'greasy' I find that dust sticks to it.
  3. In 2016 I did one of the Get To Know our & courses at CC Gatwick, run by Simon Lambert. From my notes (apologies to CC if my notes are inaccurate), and at the risk of lighting the blue touch paper, this is the general order of upgrades he recommended at the time: 13” wheels.ZZS tryres. Better in wet and more progressive (also ZZR).4 point harness, correctly worn (tight to breathe). Better connected to car. (Schroth harness if you’re thin). 6 point harness.Rear anti-roll bar £150. Take off in wet. A softer car is quicker in wet. Orange is basic ½”. Red is 5/82, so a bit stiffer.LSD. Especially in 160 – 170 bhp.Brakes. Big brakes on front. Bigger master cylinder.Engine
  4. Intermittent failure to start I have, apparently, suffered from this. My wife says the remedy is to nag more.

  6. Right. I've had a good chat with Andrew English at 213 Performance this morning. As Dan R says, they are the European service agent for STACK. 213 Performance tell me we did have a Club discount in place a couple of years ago. They have agreed to reinstate it, and I have included them in the Members' Benefits section here:- /membership/special-offers-members/stack-dash-213-performance 213 Performance are now considering extending discounts to the Club for other products they supply, and for new product lines they are considering introducing in the future. So, thank you Dan. A great result.
  7. I've not seen anything of it and haven't removed it since I took over, Geoff, and there's been no-one in role between you and me. Did it cease for some reason before I took over, Geoff? I've already asked Dan anyway and we've exchanged a couple of PMs with more information about them to follow up. He's kindly provided me with some info.
  8. I drove a friends Morgan a while ago. I must say, it felt less comfortable than my 7, felt as if there was less space, no more luggage space, handled like an ordinary tin top, but with no roof.
  9. #20, Benton, "you'll probably end up with a lot of water going into the cockpit and most likely ending up under the seats etc." So the same as a typical blat in perverse British weather! Put the hood on, out comes the sun. Take the hood off, down comes the rain.
  10. Windsurfer, Our Club contact details at Avon are on the Members Benefits page, if you need to try to contact them again. Other than the concern about the temperatures, using a specialist company familiar with the tyres (in this instance, Caterham) is probably a good idea, as Avon have previously told me that the fitters have to be careful with the beading on ZZR and ZZS, as this can easily be damaged on fitting.
  11. Windsurfer, I've just spotted your query. I'm the bloke responsible for Members' Benefits, and we do get some additional Club benefits from Avon. As well as the technical guide they wrote for the Club, but now share with Caterham, which you can find here:- /guides/avon-tyre-information They also give us a contact number, which they are happy for members to phone, which can be found in the Members' Benefits section here:- /membership/special-offers-members/avon-tyres Anyway, having seen your post, I took the liberty of phoning Adam at Avon Motorsport, myself. Adam says that ZZS does not have a temperature sensitive compound. He did, however, say that speaking entirely personally, he wouldn't like to think of his own tyres being in a frozen container for any great length of time. I asked if they had a North American distributor that you could buy from, thus obviating the need for you to have them shipped out at prolonged low temperatures. Adam suggested you might like to try Roger Kraus Racing, who are one of Avon Motorsport's US distributors. Here's the link:- https://rogerkrausracing.com/ Good luck. I hope you can get it resolved satisfactorily.

    Oooh. Bloody good.
  13. Congratulations and welcome, Billy. Be sure to post us a piccie when she arrives. As Stephen says at comment #9, be sure to take a look at the discounted suppliers in the Members' Benefits section. I, too, have a Classic Additions cover, which I use inside the garage. Nice and stretchy and soft. I know there are some classic car owners who don't like using covers, as they're concerned that any dust or debris on the inside of the cover scratches the bodywork as the cover is put on and removed. But then, hey! We drive Caterham's and Lotus. Just wait until you get your first dose of gravel rash!
  14. The way I drive, I doubt I'll still be alive on 1st January 2000, so shalln't worry about it!
  15. If you do get sidewall cracking, it's most likely to be on the front tyres.
  16. Stuart's (Premier Power) lightened flywheels are a good bit lighter than the standard CC ones.
  17. Well done, Hanns. That gives me great encouragement for my CSR. I do more miles in it than I do int he tint top. But I wonder, I can usually get insurance for 10,000 miles a year, but not more. What do you high mileage Seveners do about insurance?
  18. I was part way through getting a decal for mine from Alastair Westle, then he suddenly just stopped responding and never replied again. Dunno why.
  19. You do have a bit of a 'thing' for NACA ducts, don't you, Chris.
  20. Roger, #2 Apologies for taking so long to answer your question, but Halfords aren't the most responsive organisation. Our Club 10% discount will not apply in this case, but using the voucher in the link in my post above, combined with their Black Friday deal, does give a total discount of 35%. Hope that clarifies it.
  21. Halfords are offering a Black Friday 30% discounts on many of their products. Please note, This is a short term offer, only open until 1st December 2021. They are also offering an additional 5% off selected Halfords Socket sets & Tool kits in-store at Halfords. You will only need an image of the bar code shown in the page on the Members' Benefits page here:- /membership/special-offers-members/black-...
  22. I went to visit Autocom to buy an intercom from them, as they aren't far from me. I received the most arrogant, disdainful and unhelpful treatment I can recall for some time. I was determined that they wouldn't get my money, so I bought a second hand one through Ebay. Having learned more of what's available, I wouldn't buy one of their kits again.
  23. I've just found out that, while the contact details haven't altered, phone, email, etc., Redline's new business address is quite some distance from the old one. Reynard Crag, Reynard Crag Lane, High Birstwith, Harrogate, HG3 2JQ So I'm guessing the problem about getting hold of Chris Mintoft has been what must have been a big move, geographically.
  24. Well done for trying to raise money for the charity. I'm afraid I'm not a guitarist, but I hope it goes down well with members.
  25. I've a CSR, so a Cosworth 2.3 litre Duratec engine. I always warm her up to operating temperature before driving off, and rckon on it taking a full half-an-hour.
