  1. Gentlemen, after our chat the other day, Simon pointed out that we (that is, I) forgot to suggest The Big Picnic as a mirror event. It's on Saturday, 1st June, and I've just put it on the Club's calendar. Happy to provide whatever information might be of help.
  2. Drew, in addition to your initiative in organising this, that is astonishingly generous of you. On behalf of PCR and the Club's chairty team, thank you very much. It is people like you who make a Club like ours worthwhile. Alan
  3. So by the looks of it, Anker, you don't actually own a car with a proper roof?
  4. Thank you. I know this will sound odd, but, being an IT Neanderthal, were it not for having received a notification with a link to follow, I don't know how to find this forum. I can't see it on any of the drop down menus I've looked at. P.S. Nice picture at the top. Makes you all look very casually cool.
  5. Details and the link for tickets here:- /forum/chitchat/big-picnic Or book tickets here :- https://www.prostate-cancer-research.org.uk/big-picnic/
  6. Unfortunately Demon Tweeks don't extend the Club discount to tyres, or any items that have been reduced in price for sales & 'seasonal promotions'.

    Upgrade

'Course, we could reduce the overall weight of the car, AND save money, by eating and drinking less. As for being ignored, I've had a great deal of training in that, having been married for over forty years.

Back in 2016 I did a Get To Know Your 7 day down at Gatwick, with Caterham's Simon Lambert. While the Club's 3,000 members will have 6,328 views about the right thing to do (I'm too ignorant to have a view), here's Simon Lambert's list from back then:- 13” wheels. Feels much more 'planted'.ZZS tryres. Better in wet and more progressive (also ZZR).4 point harness, correctly worn (tight to breathe). Better connected to car. (Schroth harness if you’re thin). The tighter you're tied in, the faster you drive.Rear anti-roll bar (already got a front one) £150. Take off in wet. A softer car is quicker in wet. Orange is basic ½”. Red is 5/82, so a bit stiffer.LSD. Especially in 160 – 170 bhp.Brakes. Big brakes on front. Bigger master cylinder. Then you can start upgrading the engine
  9. Apologies if I'm saying what others have already said. I have only just opened this thread for the first time in a long time. May I just point out that the Club's moderators make it quite clear and transparent when a post has been moderated. There will always be a comment posted by them to state that they have done so, in line with the Club's belief in transparency. Yes, I do speak from personal knowledge. I, too, have been moderated. There's no need for anyone here to get paranoid. It's me they're after! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll return to looking for spent cartridges on this grassy knoll. .
  10. Dunno what Jonathan has sent you, but yes, mine all light up when I start the ignition.
  11. "I wish this forum software was better." It's one of the things the Club management is being forced to look at anyway. Unfortunately the solution is likely to be expensive.
  12. Some of the ordinary petrol stations carry good quality oil of a range of viscosities these days.
  13. Nigel, In answer to your question:- "Do I have to physically take it to Motul at the event, or can I post it back?" here's the response I got back from my contact:- "Either, it can be posted back to us - benefit here is it gets in the queue to be analysed earlier. Alternatively it can be dropped at the oil lab on Copse runway." Hope that covers it for you. I also asked if there might be other events at which this service might be available and was told:- "The oil lab and the technicians travel across from Motul in France, and we generally only bring it over for the larger events. That said we are hopeful to have a UK based service up and running in the future. It may also be at the Goodwood Revival, but not 100% confirmed yet."
  14. I confess, Nigel, in the rush to notify members I haven't checked. I'll ask my contact and post a reply here. I suspect I shalln't now get an answer until tomorrow.
  15. I'm afraid I can't help you regarding alternatives, but Avon are very pro the Club, so if you want to chat to their Avon Motorsport Tyres people they'll be glad to give you a view of the ZZR v ZZS for your combination of track v road. You can find their guide, specifically written for the Club, here, in the Club Guides section. Alternatively you can chat to them on 07900 054996. You'll probably get a bloke called Adam, but they're all technically knowledgeable and helpful.
