  8. Hi Dave, Being a "serial collector" of badges, I might have the right one for your car? Which type are you after? If I am right, in 1988 Caterham used the black and silver nose cone badge. There were a couple of versions. Just Super 7, or Super 7 Sprint or Super 7 HPC. Which 13" alloys do you use? On a Super Sprint LA the standard was KN Jupiter 13", on the DD the 14". Option were Revolution alloys or the Prisoner. I also have a pair of 4 point E-marked red Luke harnesses. The correct type used by Caterham in the eighties. Cheers JJF
  9. Hi, I have a set of 6x13 KN Jupiter alloys, as Caterham used on the Twin Cam between 1974 and 1983. This was the second set from my Twin Cam, that I sold 6 years ago. Difficult to sell them ... but for another TC owner why not. If you want the steel ones, you should look on Ford websites for Cortina or Escort steel wheels. Those were the ones Lotus used. Cheers JJF
  10. Hi Andrew, Just contact McMillan, they do service for a lot of racecars in the Academy, Graduates, ... They stock these deflectors, new and probably also second hand. http://mcmm.co.uk/ JJF
  11. Hi everyone, I did a test how I can refurbish a set of 6x13 alloys. The centres are not bad, the inner rims are dirty and on some spots paint flaking, the outer rims are straight but on a lot of spots the clear coat has been damaged. The plan is to polish the outer rims first, clean and sand the centres and inner rims, mask the outer rims and then paint everything glossy black. What is the best way to get the clear coat and paint off the outer rims? I did a test with dry sandpaper (80, 120, 240), but it takes ages. The paint is really hard and quite thick. Wire wool works slightly better but only after first sanding. Polishing afterwards is no problem, stuff and products enough and experience with polishing KN Jupiter alloys Tips and hints welcome. JJF

  13. Still 3 harnesses in stock and I need to buy a 4th one for the 2018 season ... So having a clear out. For sale is 1 black Luke - Caterham FIA 4 point harness, in good condition, clean and fully functioning. The date on this is 2006, so out of date for racing, but still perfect for road use or track days. It has the green Caterham logo from those days on them. Asking price £60 JJF
  14. Hi, Why remove this usefull protection. Even when you don' t do trackdays, it can protect the fuel tank in case of an accident? JJF
  15. Hi John, If these are the green - yellow enamel Super 7 badges, I' ll take them. Could you send me a picture of the side impact bar? Cheers JJF
  16. Hi Paul, If Johnny doesn' t take the rubber mats, I' ll take them. Are these the classic mats with the Caterham 7 logo? Like these: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/floormats/4157-rubber-floormat-rh-dd-universal-caterham-7-logo.htm If the interior mirror is original, so the non-adjustable type, I' ll take it. Cheers JJF
  17. Hi, I am working on the same issue on my current Seven. On my former Twin Cam, I had a popper at the end of each door, so at the rear. There was a base on the curved edge of the chassis. So I could fasten each door on 3 points, 2 inside and 1 outside. The tonneau used the same positions for fastening. At that rear position, I used a fastener and base. So when the tonneau was on, it was possible to fasten the doors at that place. This was a solution without holes or slits in the tonneau. JJF
  18. Have a look over here ... http://www.thecaterhamregister.net/1400%20roadsport.htm
  19. Hi all, More than 20 years ago, Caterham launched a limited edition of 30 cars, called the Road-Sport. This limited edition sat on 14" KN Minator alloys with anthracite centre and polished rim. Caterham used a different type of centre caps on the Road-Sport. These were aluminium and most probably a cap that had to be mounted from the back of the wheel. The centre caps looked like the early type used on the KN Jupiter alloys in the 70's and 80's. Is there some-one with a Road-Sport, willing to measure these centre caps and take some pictures for me? Thx! JJF
  20. Hi Charles & Andrew, I am still searching for the complete history. I have had contact with Tony Jaffe, who raced with my car for several years. He told me that he co-owned a number of race cars with a friend. The reason for selling the K Series was the replacement with a Sigma. BTW, the chassis and engine are still matching numbers, with the MSA seals still on the engine. On the internet are a couple of pictures of my car being used by Tony Jaffe. Some with headlights and windscreen, others without. As far as I know, in the beginning of the Graduates, windscreen, lights, ... were obligatory. Later on that changed. Cheers JJF
  21. Hi Andrew, Keep up the good work, you are starting from a well maintained car, judging by the pictures. I did a last test day on the track with "Blue Lena" last Saturday afternoon, very cold but dry. The Belgian beer will be cold with these temperatures when I get to Birmingham tomorrow evening. See you Tuesday evening. JJF
  22. Hi, I have sent a copy of the message JJF
  23. Thanks to Martin Phipps I have discovered that my Seven was originally build at the end of 2004 with Academy specification and the Roadsport B upgrade. First registration was on 01.11.2004. Probably for competition in the season 2005. Still looking for pictures of the original specification, Academy race cars, with following options: - Academy 16 K Series (EU3) with uprated valve caps - triple pass radiator - full painted in Caterham yellow - black pack - black-silver KN Minator alloys with Avon CR500 tyres - rear ARB - plumbed in fire extinguisher
  24. Thx to everyone. Sometimes things can be easy, but it is always better to inform before damaging stuff. That has happened to me before ... JJF
